I remember reading somewhere when BMW M was considering their options for the M version of the 1 Series they built a prototype with the S54 motor in it but ditched the idea after they discovered that the engine made the car too nose heavy.

Would be a better idea to just do this on an E46 M3 IMO but the idea is certainly cool.

Apologies for the late reply - I remember reading it in an interview with one of the engineers at BMW M and they mentioned that they did originally try to build the car with that engine in mind but found the engine to be too heavy for the front of the car. I just tried to google it but couldn't find the article but I do remember that it was a reliable source of information.

One step at a time turbo and we are all very aware of what HPF is attempting to do.

"attempting" seems to be the correct word... I don't believe into the single turbo hype until (finally) some company addresses both the hardware and tuning issues involved in switching to a single.

I wouldn't expect anyone to have anything done right now after the past week.
