    Lotus Evora GTE Concept

I think it looks amazing and the performance is finally at the level where this car should have been to begin with:

Yesterday evening at the Monterey Jet Center, Lotus unveiled the Evora GTE Road Car Concept, a tribute to the Evora race car that was created to compete in the GTE race class. The car looks eerily familiar to theMansory-built Evora shown earlier this year, and the badge on the back of the spoiler is evidence that the Swiss company was involved with this concept. Even so, the car is tastefully done and looks fantastic in person.

The Evora GTE Concept isn't just about looks, though. Behind the rear seats is a 420-horsepower version of the supercharged four-cylinder engine, running through a sequential AMT gearbox. Lightweight racing wheels with center-lock hubs are wrapped around sticky Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires.

I sat in one when they brought them to FL for exhibition, easier to get into than an elise.

the only thing that turns me off from all the new lotuses are the toyota engines they use. Nothing against the toyota engine or the performance of the car, but the exotic nature of the lotus is lost because of that.

In a sense, true, but Lotus could not afford to develop their own engines. If it wasn't for the Toyota powerplants, they would have struggled and may not even exist today.

I understand the whole problem they had. But there is nothing like the I4 turbo esprit and V8 TT esprit. Those were my favorite cars.

I dont know, they are little bit behind the curve on engine technology. They skipped an entire generation, doubt they'll be able to be at the same level they were during the esprit years.

It's a different company now with different capitol. The Esprit motor was nice but they had to cut costs and put in a POS transmission with it.
