Nice, Have an ETA on return to you?
...If people appreciate a very high level of engineering, a power delivery with excellent response, lots of low-mid rpm torque combined with a powerful non stop top end , appreciate the air to air setup... then this is kit will interest them...

Why not a separate thread for your build?

Thursday / Friday :-) Took about 5 days to get it shipped so hopefully 2 weeks i have the car back
You got higher stall right? from what i understood higher stall BETTER for dragracing but bit abrupt , lower stall better for tracking .

It may be a print error, lower than stock stall speed aims to walking speed.

    Level !0

Just got a Valve Body done by Level 10 and wanted to share my experiences with them

I see some good reviews about these guys on some forums, and this is why i went with them, but my experience has been terrible!

I had sent a valve body in to be modified and the guys at Level 10 put a spacer in one of the valves to increase line pressure. The spacer was so big it stopped the valve from opening fully, causing my transmission to get low line pressure. - When I contacted Pat the owner, he said they would never have done that, that some one else did! But the funny thing is NO one ever went in the valve body except Level 10 I had to pay thousands of dolars to the local dealer to get the problem rectified that Level Ten Transmissions created! These guys don't know what they are doing!

I then did a Paypal dispute to get my money back, and Pat did not even deny he did this crappy work, he just posted to Paypal his disclaimer saying he does not offer a Warranty for any work he does

Do you guys know of anyone else out there that can do a good job?

A buddy of mine just got his XI tranny fully built by Level10. RBs are going on the car as well so hopefully this weekend his 535XI will awake from the dead (i.e. stock), we'll slap the HFS-4 kit on it and make it RIP! (not rest in peace, quite the opposite Click here to enlarge)

Would be great updating the ECM as well. Level10 told me best would be to increase Calculated torque 40% . I wonder if something could be done with NCSexpert or Inpa...

Washers or no washers I hope the increased power output of this platform generates demand for other vendors / tranmission builders to enter the market.

I've been holding on a transmission upgrade until I have more information. More information on the upgrade process (especially the valve body upgrade), manufacture of the parts that are being upgraded, known weakness areas hard and soft parts.

Too much magic right now in this area for me.

I think that's my issue as well, i don't understand the auto trans well either.

What I'm looking for would be some well known names in the industry to get involved. I think that make me a bit more comfortable. Companies that have R&D for materials research for the clutch material. The domestic transmission guys have Borg warner / Alto / Raysbestos well known companies with proven performance and reliability.

Probably just a matter of time... I've yet to see demand that goes unmet

Would be great to have a transmission specialist vendor as a sponsor on this forum. I have tons of questions.

A transmission build scares me as well because while some members have had positive experiences with Level10 in the N54 community, I remember many horror stories that popped up over the years too...

I can't find the pictures but didn't lostmarine have the friction rings (clutch discs) swapped out in his rebuild? Definitely not just a few washers.

Buddy of mine got his XI tranny upgraded at Level10. He should have some pics. I'll ask him to send them to me and i'll post them up for you guys.

Its not just a bunch of washers, they upgrade a bunch of things, its legit...not sure what's happened in the past, probably true as nothing surprises me anymore from anyone, but I know this upgrade is considerable...my buddy will be pushing this XI tranny to the moon with RBs soon, maybe a first car in the 10s and a 5 series Click here to enlarge

Wow man I'm sorry to hear that. Glad you posted your experience though as it seems people need to be very cautious when dealing with Level 10. There are reviews from all sides but there is way too much inconsistency with this company.
