This is really the main option for M5 and Z8 guys. Why is that? Well, this is a stock internal option that is priced well. Here are the specs:

Price: $9,495
Boost: 6 psi

- 8 larger Bosch injectors.
- New ESS ECU software w/removed top speed governor and 7100RPM limit.
- Vortech V3Si self contained supercharger unit

That dyno is from ESS themselves and customers who dyno independently tend to be a bit lower. Numbers have ranged a bit as this car on an independent dyno shows:

To be fair, that car had some issues which were sorted out and it put up 446 whp once they were resolved. Still shy from the ESS quoted numbers but cars do differ. One can realistically expect 450-500 whp on the ESS setup which is quite good.

Compared to Discovery Automotive this obviously will make a lot less power but it also costs a lot less. The S62 market does not have very many options and the ESS kit fits the bill perfectly.

The only other alternative without building the motor is Dinan for $23k which basically will give you the same thing as the ESS setup but for $13,500 more. A no-brainer, really, especially once you realize ESS has a 5 psi option for $7,995.
