    The Quest for 12's Continues

I know, a 12 second pass should be no big deal for a tuned N54, but it is when you are dealing with the Florida heat and humidity. Since my last visit to the track nothing on my car has changed. I figured I would go out and try to improve upon what I already had, a JB4 set to Map 1 and a homemade DCI. Needless to say, I won't be returning to the track until late fall so I won't have to leave disappointed anymore. Also worth noting, I had no bogs at the track, yet my traps speeds remained the same.

    Results:

    Run#1

    60': 2.094
    ET:13.060
    MPH: 107.29

    Run#2

    60': 2.220
    ET: 13.223
    MPH: 106.42

(Don't know why this comes out sideways, it is rotated in Photobucket)

The only other cars running last night were:

My Gf's 2007 Mustang GT (Auto Stock) 14.01@99
My friends 2006 VW GTI (Manual Downpipe, intake, Revo Flash) 14.4@99 (stock he ran 14.3 last winter)
A friend of a friends LS1 Camaro (Auto ,4000 stall, gears, ET streets H/C/I/E) 12.01@114 (strangely enough my buddy's exact same build from the same shop only on a different car)
135I (auto, pretty sure I saw him with a can of race gas, exhaust, tune) 13.2@111

I know, I feel like if I had more torque down low it would be better. I get no wheel spin first gear, just "turbo lag".

Launching any higher just results in wheel spin. I'll try again in the fall when I have a better tire setup.

I still feel that I should be getting better traps though.

I didn't this because the conditions were so similar to the last time I went. Map 0 resulted in a 100mph track at the last outing.

What tire setup are you running?

Better weather and a slight 60 foot improvement and you are there, easily.

Not complaining about the gains at all. I just expected the car to be faster from the get go. It's hard having a car like this after the 350Z.

6MT. Trust me, if I was 6at you would seen a 12 second pass the first night I went out. I have lots of practice drag racing automatics. I'll shoot you a pm next time I go the track. It may not be for awhile as I'm going to start shifting my focus towards handling mods.

Yeah I know, plus these cars are way more sensitive to heat. My gf's mustang, no matter the weather it runs the same times.

That's the plan in couple months. Just waiting until my warranty is up in November. I don't feel like taking everything on and off. I also have DP's sitting in my room waiting for install.

This is your problem. Almost a waste of time to show up at the strip on street rubber.

I'm perfectly aware of that. My goal was never to drag race this car. I'm just trying to have some fun until it cools off and I start tracking again.
