Has anyone ran 60-130 pre tune and post tune?

I would love to see this done. Id really be curious to know how much it really helps. Ive found that sometimes tunes can "feel" faster due to sharper throttle response (remapping the throttle). Wether it be done on a stock car or a car with FBO would be great to see. Would also help sell some tunes if someone could prove their tune actually speeds the car up not just makes more power on a dyno. I feel like if I owned a tuning company I would make sure to do some tests on this and show actual results to help sell my product.

Obviously on the C63 it makes a huge difference, but im talking about more high strung N/A Engines like the M3.

For comparison, a stock C63 non p31 would be low to mid 10s.

thanks Jon, but not to sound like a dick but I put above "Obviously on the C63 it makes a huge difference, but im talking about more high strung N/A Engines like the M3." The C63 comes detuned so its a no brainer. The engine is not like that of a M3, F430, Gallardo etc...

I ran a tuned minor bolton DCT M3 with my tuned C63. The M3 was so far back, his mods didnt do jack. Stock for stock its suppose to be close.

As have I, was quite a few cars. But I'm not comparing our cars to any others here. Im just saying same car vs same car with tune. I.e ...60-130 for an m3 stock then with a tune. Or an FBO M3 60-130 w/out tune then with a tune. Or even a stock m3 racing a tune only m3 to actually see what a tune does, not just what it shows on a dyno

I will be more than happy to run you - doubt I will win but I doubt my car will be "so far back that my mods didnt do jack"

didnt you only beat bens 335 by a car? how much boost was he running during the runs

Here is my car vs a FBO M3 (no tune) he holds the 60-130 record for an N/A M3

But I really want to see what a tune does for this car in performance #'s such as 1/4 mile trap speed or 60-130 runs. Im really curious to see if it does much, Ive become a doubter

Here are my gains from my OETune:

I do feel a gain in the butt dyno, but they aren't drastic; nonetheless they're still pretty noticeable.
I've pulled on stock C63's pretty bad, I figure the performance of my car is between a stock C63 and a tuned/p31 C63; being alot closer to a tuned than a stock-er.
Once again, I'm always down for friendly comparo runs.

Not 100% sure, but with my experience it takes less hp for the m3 to keep up with the c63 (m3 is lighter and DCT is a huge lifesaver). When I was stock with just a meisterschaft muffler me and my buddies stock non p31 c63 were in dead heat (451hp vs 414hp)...Thats why I want to do a run against a tuned one, once again I doubt I'll win but I do think it will be alot closer than in the video above of drew vs the amg and how bad some of these guys make it sound (drew didn't even have pullies, tune, filter, scoops in the vid -he's essentially stock with just an exhaust and xpipe).

Tuned c63s are no joke though...at all...very fast cars

on OE tunings dyno dynamics my c63 p31 put down 390whp stock. On a Dynojet other c63 p31 cars put down 418-427whp stock.

regular c63's put down around 360-370whp stock on a dynojet.

but thats my point is that the butt dyno will feel it just do to the sharper throttle response, there is no way a human can tell the difference for sure. Im sure you did, but im really trying to see if any tuner has actually ever shown real gains, NOT dyno gains.

and well on the runs, just look at the vid I posted above...i mean that about says it...but always fun to do, hope you get video of it if you do get some runs.

I agree with LM, I think it'll be close but the C63 does have about 50 more whp so it should win. I have more power than drew in the following vid, and an OETuning c63 probably has more power than the AMG in this vid, but you get the idea:

I think a great race would be a FBO 335 on race gas, FBO m3 DCT, and tuned c63....we have to organize this with a camera in each car lol

I have HFCs xpipe pulley and filter and no tune. I'd be willing to do some before and after runs once my new tires come in. I'm looking to get the OEtuning tune soon anyway.

your also 6MT, so it would be nice for a before and after with ERM since he is DCT and we can see the DCT superiority at work Click here to enlarge
