I often feel that E36 M3's look dated but looking at yours I don't get that impression and I'm not sure why.

What have you done to the exterior?

not 100% sure yet, one will be just in front of the TB, but i'm not sure if I'll put one upstream farther or not.

The exterior is basically 100% OEM '99 M3. It has a full ground control coilover setup, BBS RCJ's in 18x9" on all 4 corners, running 265's out back and 235's up front (big rubber for an e36), and a hell of a lot of time spent with a polisher on the paint. No aftermarket body add ons at all.

with the right suspension and wheels, and glossy paint, an e36 M3 can look damned good. Classic in my eyes.

I have seen guys run WI injectors in each of the intake manifold runners. I was just wondering if you planned to do something like that. Either way, I'm sure it will work out well.

How much fender rolling did you have to do to get 265's to fit? And what brand / type of tires are you running?

they are Vredestein Sessanta's.....the fenders are rolled pretty damned good in the rear, slight rubbing at strange articulations over slow bumps but in general they dont rub. Its ridiculously close though....

Sniz, feel free to post every pic you have.

You know what I think makes it look so good? It is probably the quality of your paint (you said due to polish, right?) and the quality camera being used it seems.

yes the paint is all original, except the hood and some blend on the front fenders thanks to a $#@!in deer last year. I spent close to 30 total hours last year on a 2 day bender polishing this bad boy starting the day after I bought it. The paint was very oxidized and faded, but I could see it has potential.

Here is a copy of a thread my friend Mark made showing my progress.

whats up guys....wow long long day. Started w/ a wash around 11am and finished at just about midnight w/ the wax. Nothing but exterior work.

    what was done:

    - all wheels pulled and wheel wells and suspension completely degreased and scrubbed......wow was that a mess

    - full wash with about 5 different rinses. I have never seen paint so in need of attention, at least on a car that I own!!! No beading goin on here

    - dry w leaf blower and microfiber waffle weave

    - moldings pulled

    - FULL clay bar treatment, seriously dirty clay afterwards

    - Menzerna SIP w orange pad......the pad was TOAST afterwards, mark will probably post pics of that nasty ass thing

    - Menzerna 106FF w white pad

    - Menzerna glaze w black pad

    - jeffs acrylic jett

    - CG Pete's 53 wax

    - Aerospace 303 on all moldings after they were degreased

    -polished tips

here are 2 final shots, its Beam and Coke and then bed for me.

tomorrow is full interior detail, seats will be pulled, everything steam clean and degreased.

Man does my car need this kind of loving. I have been thinking about getting the whole car resprayed after the summer, and having the interior fully redone. Sniz you should come down to the Dyno Day tomorrow at Max Psi if you have some free time.

Yea I just picked up my car after I replaced the plugs. It also has a layer of pollen on it. I'll try to get it off with the use of some boost. ;-)

Video from me firing it up for the 1st time after putting the motor back together and putting the downpipe and exhaust on. I fired it for maybe 5 seconds straight out of the turbo.

    Ok guys,
went back to Adams today, fixed a coolant leak from a loose clamp then filled up and rebled the system. Seems to be working great now.

I also replaced all the clear vinyl (non automotive) hoses that I test fitted the ICV with proper automotive hosing and clamps........car idles much better and is hitting 11.8-12.1 at WOT at 8psi. Its raining here so it was dangerous even testing that.....a high boost test will have to wait.

its working great it seems, very happy about this Click here to enlarge

I really appreciate everyone here's help, without the support of my local BMW CCA guys, bimmerforums F/I crew, Mike Radowski and George....etc, I wouldnt have gotten this done. It was a hell of a learning experience for me and I'm very glad I did the work myself. It turned into 2 head gasket jobs but thats ok, the 2nd time around was a breeze.
