    I think the Hoosier likely is better as it is almost a slick although I have no experience with it. Either one will provide you with more than enough traction.

    I've got a set of regular ole MT E.T. Streets on my SL600, as a drag pack. Oddly enough, I bought them from oldgixxer. Even in a low profile 18" flavor, they dead hook every time. I've got a measly 750 lb-ft, or something stupid like that. I'm sure they'll be just fine for your CLK.

    Hell, I was able to get that car to hook with all season tires, when it was running mid 11s. The MTs are more than adequate for what you're gonna need.
