Haha, I misunderstood! I thought you meant you didn't want an NA tune.

"The new tune is a modified and improved version of our previous Stage I/Stage II tunes with some additional optimization of the VANOS control. This will give more power than it did before.

It will probably be a nominal fee of $200-$300 for users to upgrade to the new version of the software.

For customers that purchase a tune from us right on the cusp of the release of the new vanos file, we will probably offer a further discount due to the short time lapse.

I hope this clears up any confusion - please feel free to contact me with any other questions. Thanks!"

"It looks like it will be about 20rwhp on a bone stock car with no mods.

However, testing has not been fully completed so it may be higher or lower than that number.

We will post info up as there are new developments. Right now we are pretty busy preparing for Mfest."

    So, 20whp, not 40whp.

Pretty good, but is it "game changing" good?

Just tune alone with no supporting mods and I think on 91 octane... pretty damn good.

Gintani has released its v3 (stage 3 whatever you want to call it) tuned file for M5/M6, the M3 is going to get it's final touches soon.

You have to understand there is overlap in the industry.

?? He asked about Powerchip and got a Gintani promotional response. How is that overlap?

If you understood the details of the tunes and those involved you would understand why there is a natural overlap.

It is a bit unfortunate that Gintani is pushed so hard at times at others expense as you alluded to. A balance is necessary.

PC's sole SoCAL tuner and the reason these M3 maps were successful, has now moved on to Gintani and no longer supports PC with his new revisions as of many months ago. Simple as that.

Ah OK, so basically the tuner from PC moved to Gintani. And was he the only guy at PC doing the tuning? Are all the PC results down to his hand?

Yes the only SoCal tuner at the US branch, they have a guy in OZ but that's a different story.

Gotcha. So PC used to do the tuning for Gintani. That mean Gintani poached him from PC?

No PC's tuner (of great success) is now contracting for Gintani, simple as that. No poaching or bad blood.

Supposedly they have posted some customers running around with it in the oz (with no dyno proof yet), but has no results or stated release in the US for 91 oct fuel, yet.

It appears Gintani beat them to the punch, it's released and making the power listed in the thread over the previous tuned files.

The tuner went out on his own. He has his own company and can/will do work for all kinds of companies. The name is OE Tuning.
