Ianbiz, for the power range I'm in the vanos will help. For big cams etc... I think it's easier to tune without the vanos, but I'm not sure about more power...

Baller, the issue with the 540 is tuning... I've got a SC project (mild in comparison) I'm working on and the tuning is key... ask Dirt11 (Dave) on the board, there are only a few guys in the world...

I thought your valve covers were leaking, your head gasket is leaking?? That's a much bigger job. Have you done a compression check to confirm??

had to do the same thing on my SC install, had a secondary air pipe leaking at the joint to the head.... on the passenger side, take all of the supercharger, bracket, etc... back out and refit...
