I bought a 335is engine- this is the reason why it was replaced. Looks VERY VERY low mileage- I'd be willing to bet less than 25K miles.
I buy all sorts of NG6 engines in various states of repair....

how many cranks did you measure?
did you just let the gauge go until it stopped building?

I didn't mean take the dang cap off. Flip it to the open position and let it sit there. go under boost and see if it pops up to vent pressure :shaking:

It will still be for the original gasket size.
Run it under load with the oil cap open. see if it leaks.
Sounds like crankcase pressure to me. probably pushing out the valve cover or something.

yes, both of those check valves go to intake and exhaust vanos oil ports. They don't need to be changed, unless you're having issues with them. (leaking or whatever)

The design of the NG6 camshaft is a tricky one. I've pulled cast cams and hollow hydro formed cams out of N54's.
I'd *assume* the cast cams would be the desirable ones to use if you wanted to...
