Best Motoring I used to really dig their videos... Interesting run and both had 6spds it appears, 135i seems like the bargain in that test
problem, is that the M short shifted 1st gear, and launched at 2k as opposed to over 3k in the 135.. not much, but enough to only "match" the 135
$100 says he forgot to put it in M mode too
13.3? Must be an E46 under that skin.
Best Motoring sucks and is dead or a reason. The NSX would win every track comparison.
Seriously, dead even? Learn how to drive bro.
Best motoring is terrible at this. They had a z06 run 12's and a hayabusa runs 11's in the same run. Much further away from their realistic times. Nothing like their old times which were far closer to actual performance figures.
I've driven both cars stock, this isn't the outcome, the m is faster stock. Throw a tune and some mods on the 135 and it's a different story, but yea this vid isn't accurate.
Lol - I really want a translation. That was/is ridiculous - how they can put videos out like this for an actual job baffles me. It reminds me of the recurring SNL skit where the kids just make up shit as they go and the teacher gets all disgusted by their stupidity: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbyJNdonlI0
The more I think about this, the worse it seems. :)
0-100 mph times for both of these cars have over a full second of disparity. Any time that I can find for the 135i is in the low to mid 11 (sometimes even 12s) second range. Almost every single time I can find for the M3 (0-100/0-160kph) is under 10 seconds, some are low 10s. The E46 M3 is just as quick if not quicker than the 135i - at around 11s flat. I can see this being a drivers race with an S54 powered M, but no contest otherwise.
Is it just me, or is this comaprison a recurring theme in life?
The fact that it was even close is embarrassing for the M3
It's dead because a huge waved toppled their country. So much ignorance in this post.
Best Motoring is probably the coolest car show ever IMO. Nobody does factory stock racing better, not even SCCA. The NSX is the benchmark, DUH, as it should be used a basis to compare things to it was ahead of it's time 10 years after it was released.
It's an unprepared runway. This 135i got an outstanding launch obviously, but like 5th gear the professional drivers only get one shot
Ya Best Motoring rules. And so does the NSX. FOREVER.
