Prior Design released their 5 series body kit renderings and this time did not use any BimmerBoost inspiration.
We would like to see more real photos of the actual kit but the renderings show how they intend to proceed with the design. The front bumper is E92 M3 inspired and the rear is fairly basic. The fenders look a bit tacky but overall a nice package if the real thing looks this way.

This is a great race to see, BimmerBoost and BenzBoost members DD GT3 RD and DLSJ5 racing their C63 P31 and M3 DCT respectively. The C63 P31 is stock and the DCT M3 has a catless X-pipe and Borla mufflers. The C63 with the P31 package is the decisively faster and for the M3 to win it would definitely take a tune. Check out the video below. ...Published on 04-05-2011 01:24 AM
BMW released more detailed hi-res photos of the new N20 4 cylinder turbo. These give a good look into the size of the turbo, design of the manifold, as well as the cams. They also released a video about their new "Efficient Dynamics" engine family. We are looking forward to seeing how this motor will be tuned and wondering if VALVETRONIC will cause any complications in tuning. ...Published on 04-04-2011 02:41 PM
With the first round of pics already circulating the web BMW has now released their official video for the M5 concept. As expected, a well edited short teaser piece. We just can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed in the design of the car. It is so restrained and predictable it hinges on boring. Check out the video and let us know what you think. ...Published on 04-03-2011 08:04 PM
A race that we had been waiting to see for some time has finally taken place. MSIZZLE in his full bolt on M6 raced a GTM Stage I twin turbo 370Z. The M6 has dyno'd 510 whp uncorrected and the 370Z has put down 490 whp uncorrected. The cars are pretty close with the 370Z ultimately pulling a couple car-lengths. Check out the video below. ...Published on 04-02-2011 09:51 PM
We were not expecting photos the M5 concept for at least a little while longer. Seems a Russian site jumped the gun slightly and was able to post the photos for the M5 concept before anyone else. As usual, BMW reveals their production aspirations for the M car in concept form and we like what we see. No real surprises, the car is actually fairly mild and restrained. ...Published on 04-02-2011 05:43 PM
Everyone keeps talking about the importance of the Chinese market. BMW is taking China very seriously offering multiple special editions for China and realizing the potential of the market. What is the problem? The Chinese allow their own automakers to steal designs and sell them as cheaper knock-offs. China does not have the same trademark or copyright enforcement as the rest of the world and it is clear something is going to have to change. Check out these "Chinese" versions of BMW designs. ...Published on 04-01-2011 09:32 AM
BMW officially unveiled the M3 pickup truck today. It has the same 420 horsepower S65 V8 we have all known to come in love in the standard M3. It has a cover for the bed which is removable as well as a targa top. Losing the rear half of the car has not really lightened it, putting it at 110 pounds less weight than the E93 cab. Hey, still, this is the hottest performance sport truck on the planet. ...Published on 03-31-2011 08:53 PM

Just add your tuning option and supplemental parts (BOV, intercooler, etc.), full specs below. ...Published on 03-31-2011 08:32 PM
After a long wait, we are proud to announce that Akrapovic's first inbound batch of X5M and X6M exhaust systems! We were so excited about the new exhaust that we purchased every available system on the first inbound shipment. Seeing the exhaust first hand was an experience we've now come to expect from Akrapovic and left all of us very impressed. The intricate carbon fiber tips, carefully spaced to allow for cool operation and longevity, the beautifully CNC bent and laser cut brackets, the phenomenal welds, everything about this exhaust was typical Akrapovic artwork. ...Published on 03-31-2011 07:21 AM
A couple sites reported that AutoBild leaked the new 1 series. Unfortunately, that is incorrect and we hate to interfere with their headline grabbing attempts but this is just a speculative rendering. It is likely very accurate though and based on a look by AutoBild at the real thing but this is not the official F20 1 series. So, everyone calm down. ...Published on 03-30-2011 09:51 PM
Earlier this month, we brought you an article that highlighted concerns with the quality of Vorsteiner products. We felt in that article that perhaps the cheaper products did not reflect the quality of the $25k E92 M3 GTRS3 widebody kit. We were recently made aware of photos highlighting flaws in the GTRS3 kit and have posted those photos here. ...Published on 03-30-2011 07:33 AM
Vorsteiner has released its new E93 carbon fiber bootlid. They claim it is the lightest trunk available for the E93 although no weight specs have been posted. It uses all the OEM mounting points and there is no interruption in the operation of the hard top. It looks great from the side profile but the integration of the brake light seems to be a bit awkward. No word on pricing. ...Published on 03-29-2011 03:22 PM
Car and Driver did a short take road test of the active hybrid 750. This is a car with a 4800 pound curb weight (about 250 pounds over the regular 750) due to the electric motor and battery yet it still manages to run an impressive 12.8@112 which is just about on par with an E92 M3. So, if you really feel the need to save the world and be green, you don't have to do it in a Prius and can still have fun. ...Published on 03-29-2011 07:16 AM
Wald has released photos of their body kit for the F10 5 series. It is a bit different from everything else out there which is nice to see. The exhaust setup will likely be hate it or love it for most people with the overlapping tips that mimic 996 X50 style Porsche exhaust tips. The side skirts add an aggressive look as well. We prefer the rear more to the front but nice to see a kit different from what is out there. ...Published on 03-28-2011 07:08 AM
We have our first direct comparison of the TT-RS vs. the 1M Coupe. Car and Driver picked the 1M as their car of choice over the TT-RS and the Infiniti. Frankly, the Infiniti didn't belong in the comparison being much heavier and slower than the other two. What is shocking is they time the TT-RS at 12.1@113 through the 1/4 mile which is quicker than the R8 V8 and hitting 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Car and Driver may have picked the 1M, but the TT-RS is what impressed us. ...Published on 03-28-2011 05:45 AM
This is a quite an impressive build. Dinan built the S62 V8 with the One Lap of American in mind. Dusty Renteria of Dinan was the engine builder and he used Mahle pistons, billet crank, race spec cams, and Carillo rods. BB supporting vendor Vasavada of Apex Speed Technology did the tuning on the Pectel SQ6 ECU. Claimed power is 600 horses, but only a crank dyno has been supplied. ...Published on 03-26-2011 04:00 AM
This is a rather interesting development. With the confirmation of a Dual Clutch Transmission many were wondering if a manual would be available. We poked fun earlier of the idea of BMW charging more for a manual transmission but it seems that may be true. The German publication Focus reports that only the American market will get the manual transmission likely due to the CTS-V offering it. BMW has yet to confirm the report. ...Published on 03-26-2011 12:10 AM
For whatever reason, Powerchip continues to attack their former employee Jeremy of OE Tuning. Everyone is sick of it at this point but recently Mike Benvo went to OE Tuning and attempted to use their own dyno to discredit OE Tuning. The reason for this is graphs that showed large gains made by OE Tuning over a Powerchip tune. ...Published on 03-25-2011 10:52 PM

There have been some shots taken from all sides and BimmerBoost decided to contact Steed Speed directly to get their response to the issues that have been mentioned.
