Now this is what you call fast. Congratulations to Budler Motorsports for improving on their record (previously a 7.69 elapsed time) with a 7.48@184 1/4 mile run. This vehicle is a 5-speed manual E30 with an S38 swap that is turbocharged. Horsepower is somewhere in the ~1300 range. The world's fastest E30 BMW? Yep. Also the world's fastest manual BMW? Unless anybody can mention another BMW with a manual gearbox that is faster this E30 would appear to have that record. ...Published on 05-02-2013 11:42 PM
Now this is what a BMW M car is supposed to sound like. A slight raspy growl down low with a tinge of that high pitched exotic whine as the revs rise and hell is unldeashed. This is a sweet sounding M3. The type of sound that adds another element to the M ownership experience. No need for fake or synthetic engine noise to be piped in to try to make the car more exciting like what BMW has to resort to doing in the new F10 M5 due to the poor engine note. ...Published on 04-30-2013 09:11 PM
This is starting to get sad especially considering the M6 is the highest performance car BMW has right now. Car and Driver decided to do a comparison between the new F12 M6, Porsche 991 Carrera S, Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, and the Jaguar XKR-S. All of which finished ahead of the BMW M6 which came in last place a position BMW is getting accustomed to being in as of late in automotive magazine comparison tests. ...BMS (Burger Tuning) hits new N54 stock turbo Dynojet dyno record with 461 rear wheel horsepower pull
Published on 04-30-2013 05:28 AM
With all the discussions as of late regarding upgraded turbo options for N54 inline-6 twin turbo based vehicles the stock N54 turbos have not been getting a lot of love. Well, in comes BMS to remind us just how much power the stock turbos can make these days. The N54 has come a long way and BMS was able to squeeze out 461 rear wheel horsepower on a dynojet in STD correction. Also 510 pound-feet of rear wheel torque. ...Published on 04-30-2013 01:41 AM
A warm welcome from BimmerBoost.com to its newest vendor, Gaphix Design Haus. The company is new and located in Los Angeles, California. BimmerBoost signed and NDA (non-disclosure agreement) so unfortunately details on the two new product coming can not be posted at this time but we most certainly can introduce Gaphix Design Haus and also tell you that there will be two completely new products one the E46 M3 and well as E9X M3. ...Published on 04-26-2013 05:32 PM
Foreword by admin: Gentlemen, many M3 enthusiasts and car modification enthusiasts in general tend to get this wrong. Active Autowerke put up a quick article explaining that one can not compare superchargers especially for the M3 platform simply by looking at the PSI figures. 7 psi on a Vortech T-Trim and 7 psi on a Rotrex blower do not tell the whole story as far as how much air (measured in CFM, or cubic feet per minute) is getting into the motor and at what rpm. PSI does not explain the torque curve, max CFM the blower is capable of, or the compressor map. A good read by Active Autowerke explaining this below even for those familiar with boost being a measure of backpressure. ...Published on 04-24-2013 07:43 PM
Two great videos here showing the new F12 M6 coupe going head to head on the highway versus a Porsche 997.1 Turbo and also the new F10 M5. As we have previously seen when the F12 M6 and F10 M5 raced on the highway, the M6 shows itself to be faster than the M5. The difference is larger than one would expect and enough to make the decision easy for a person deciding between the M5 and M6 who wants maximum performance. The weight penalty of the M5 simply can not be hidden. ...Published on 04-23-2013 05:51 PM
Well, it seems the back and forth of N54 tuning horsepower records is over... for now. Earlier this month Vargas Turbo Tech and Pro Tuning Freaks (with a Cobb flash) set the N54 hosrepower record at 693 wheel horsepower. That basically obliterated what anyone else had hit on this platform. A competing tuner with a single turbo (the Vargas VTX63 upgrade consists of twin turbos) N54 upgrade kit out of nowhere pulled out suspect numbers that eeked out a few more wheel horsepower. ...BimmerBoost 2013 Long Beach Grand Prix Coverage - BMW Motorsports wins ALMS GT class with 1-2 finish

Congratulations to BMW Motorsport on a 1-2 victory at the 2013 ALMS Long Beach Grand Prix with the new Z4 GTE's. This was the first year for BimmerBoost in attendance and suffice it to say covering the event will be a yearly occurrence. There was a little bit of everything to see from the ALMS GT and LMP cars, to Indy cars, to Formula Drift, to high end customer racing cars such as the R8 LMS vehicles. An added bonus was that the weather was just about as good as it gets with clear blue sunny 80 degree skies. ...Published on 04-20-2013 02:50 PM
BMW is expanding heavily and this of course includes the Chinese market. BMW will launch a new brand specifically for the Chinese market which will be called Zinoro. The vehicles will have an emphasis on fuel efficiency and will likely include mostly electric vehicles. Basically, seems BMW will be building affordable (cheap) electric and hybrid city cars. BMW's partner in this will be the Chinese brand Brilliance who ironically has made their name blatantly ripping off BMW designs. ...Published on 04-19-2013 02:10 PM
Well seems BMW will respond to recent challenges from its competition and not just leave the M5 stagnant. The F10 M5 being a forced induction vehicle makes it relatively easy for BMW to just revise the software but it seems the F10 M5 facelift "Competition Package" will offer more than just a software change. The 15 horsepower bump will obviously be attractive and will push the M5 to a total of 580 horsepower as BMW's answer the CLS63/E63 AMG facelift with 585 optional horses. ...Published on 04-16-2013 11:50 PM
With all the dual clutch transmission talk and even companies like Porsche doing what was thought unthinkable and giving their purest drivers car a dual clutch transmission over a manual it's nice to see BMW not completely abandoning the transmission. The car you see here is the upcoming F22 2-Series which will take the place of the 1-Series in the USA. It will also be the competitor for the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the Audi A3 Sedan. ...Published on 04-16-2013 03:50 PM
This was a race many of you were waiting to see, a "built" motor supercharged DCT M3 versus a Stage III supercharged C63 AMG. The C63 AMG is the new W204 Black Series whose M156 V8 features stronger forged internals than the standard M156 in regular C63 AMG's that do not have the optional P31 performance package. At about 11 psi of boost on a 91 octane tune for the AMG power is in the upper 600 wheel horsepower range and would be higher with a race gas tune. ...Published on 04-16-2013 12:07 AM
We all know the S65 has a rod bearing issue. Not all engines suffer from premature bearing wear/failure, but enough do. We have had quite a few S65s through our machine shop and some showed some serious wear. BMW has had rather embarrassing issues with rod bearings in the past so we wanted to get ahead of the curve and release the 3 proven products that will strengthen our favorite BMW engines. For those interested in the ultimate in oil management, our billet dry sump kit is for you! ...Published on 04-14-2013 10:38 PM
Congratulations are in order to Vargas Turbo Tech as well as Cobb tuning and ProTuning Freaks for raising the bar as to what the BMW N54 inline-6 twin turbo motor is capable of. There are two platform records here the first of which it is important to note was achieved without methanol injection. There are certain tuners on the N54 platform that mask their ability to upgrade and control the stock fueling system and any fueling issues are "solved" by dumping in a ton of methanol. ...Published on 04-13-2013 08:50 PM
BimmerBoost is happy to give credit where credit is due and credit is most certainly due here. Congratulations to Maximum PSI as well as Nick G of Technique Tuning for raising the bar on what a stock DME tuned E46 M3 turbo S54 inline-6 engine is capable. How does 697 wheel horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque at the wheels with MS109 race gas sound? And how about the fact that they aren't done as E85 maps are planned? ...Published on 04-12-2013 07:32 PM
Another great M3 versus 335i battle which is an ever so popular topic on the Bimmerboost forums. What we have here is a 135i with RB upgraded twin belonging to Burger Motorsports which has BMS JB4 tuning. The M3 is an E92 with a DCT (dual clutch transmission) and the S65 V8 is supercharged with an ESS-VT2 625 kit. The 335 likely has somewhere in the mid 500's to the wheels and the M3 is likely somewhere in the same boat. ...Published on 04-10-2013 06:31 AM
Interesting race here with the ever popular M3 versus 335i topic. Before this race creates a World War on BimmerBoost it really goes exactly as expected. Despite what Vishnu would have people think about "their" (FFtec) single turbo kit for the N54 it ends up just a bit slower than a DCT M3 running a basic Vortec V3si supercharger kit at 7 psi with a 91 octane pump gas tune. The 335i even has meth injection which of course it will need due to how Vishnu tends to go about masking fuel issues when trying to make big power on the N54 with the turbo kit. ...Published on 04-09-2013 09:30 PM
Always a cool feeling to run into a hot upcoming car, in this case the 2014 BMW M3, and catching it undergoing testing before release. Spyphotos like these get big attention as they show off upcoming design elements. So what can we see here? Well, first of all the color on the car is Jerez Black which looks like it will be making a return on the F80 M3 being a popular color on the E9X M3 series. Shots of the brake disc show some very large vented rotors that hopefully have some high end calipers on them this time around. ...Published on 04-09-2013 12:41 AM
Great race here between two cars that are closely matched. N54 owners will obviously enjoy seeing 335 beat an exotic as part of the appeal for the BMW 335 is affordable tuning. That's the reality of it and this 335 with a JB4 tune and upgraded RB turbos is able to be the ECU tuned Gallardo LP560-4. And this Lambo is a worthy opponent considering the stock car traps just under 130 miles per hour so with a decent tune it should be above that mark. ...
