      This is the kind of project we really love to see. The S54 is a great motor but E30 swaps have not been as prevalent with it as with say the S50B32 from the Euro E36. The wiring and tuning makes it more complex to pull off so congratulations to BimmerWorld for what looks to be a very clean install. Randy Mueller at Epic Motorsports did the tuning and 326 at the wheels with an S54 is some very good tuning indeed. We believe the ECU is also the factory DME with an Alpha-N tune (mass air sensor delete) making this all the more impressive.

        The ECU is a factory unit, sent off to Bimmerworld for the conversion for it to run in a non-E46 car. They handled the ECU changes and provided all supporting parts (header, pulleys, intake, etc) for a proven combination that was known to work well together. My old man did the install at his shop (MR Auto Clinic) in his spare time and Randy did the tune last weekend.

        Overall, we are extremely happy with the results and the power its making for such a light car. Can't wait to surprise some GT3's out at Sebring next week Click here to enlarge

        Factory DME.. damn, that's awesome. Bimmerworld can do this with any S54 swap?

        Yes, from my understanding the tune that Epic does can apply to any of the Bimmerworld s54 swaps. I saw a dyno from an e36 with the s54 swap right at 340whp, with a 3.5" exhaust I believe, which is said to net around 10hp over our 3" version.

        340 whp on the S54 in naturally aspirated form is incredibly admirable.

        You going to move to a 3.5 inch?

        Alpha-N setup as stated and bolt on mods (exhaust) but internals are stock. Impressive eh?

        Motor has honestly not been opened up. Header/exhaust/pulley/intake and it is dry sumped, but that's it. We may go 3.5" at some point, but right now I'm sure I'll have my hands full with the way it is. Its good knowing that I have options in case I need the extra little power at some point.

        Cool project Kristensen Automotive in Canada has one doing 365. Alpha-N is cool and all but I wouldn't convert. Changes in altitude, barometric pressure, drastic temperature changes, etc., all make them run like turds.
