• Alpina F11 B5 turbo Wagon/Touring to debut in Geneva

      Alpina will be revealing its new F11 Wagon at the Geneva auto show. What does it pack under the hood? Well, much the same as the F10 B5 it has a tweaked N63 twin turbo V8 putting out 500 horsepower. The motor is mated to a ZF 8 speed gearbox. The other noticeable changes are obviously the body kit and the classic Alpina wheels. No idea if this will come to the United States but we would bet against it since the US has not traditionally been a strong market for wagons.

        not feeling it - back end looks too much like an X5 and with the front treatment it looks like a goofy smiley face (lights are the eyes, grill=nose, opening above front spoiler=goofy smile).         They made a mistake about not bringing the F11 Touring to the US. I understand about the sales being low. Make it a SOO "Special Order Only" purchase. So the people that really want and will pay for one will get one. The crash testing and certification processes price is to high to justify for BMW NA. But since they are pushing the GT they can't have them both since that is a tough sell anyway and really small niche.

        And the Alpina is typically understated. Lose the decals and then go blast down the road!!! I like it. The quad pipes are cool as heck. Click here to enlarge

        The F11 touring makes more sense than the 5 series GT.
