      The vast majority of BMW blogs and sites on the net posted pictures of the N20 sitting in an engine bay with a plastic cover. That did not do much for us to be able to see the actual motor. Well, a shot of the motor has surfaced that also reveals the size of the intercooler. This is all we have so far but we are hoping more photos and details of the motor will surface soon.

        lol was the twin scroll really necessary for such a small turbo. esp when its a 4 cylinder too haha. a very small intercooler as well. is it a 2 liter?
        compared to my gti... this is very interesting without a doubt.
        It isn't necessary, but definitely is a worthwhile thing for decreasing spool time.

        Wonder what the intake plumbing looks like. Hopefully this motor comes with beefy internals and lots of margin for tuning from the fuel system.

        The exhaust manifold seems to be well designed with individual primaries, probably for the twin scroll exhaust housing on the turbo. The intercooler is not that small for a 2 liter, its about the same size as the N54 IC hah...

        This thing looks like a mini N54, lot's of potential here.

        Yes , since it's based on N55 it has great potential for being modded , i'm thinking about +300HP or maybe more

        If this goes in the new 328, expect it to be the new entry level tuner car. Very nice!

        Or just man up and get a 335! If I could do it all over again, I probably would wait for the 328, but the 335 is a beast, just doesn't get the mielage that Im used to. Makes me wonder how this new motor will compare to the upcoming Golf R....170Kw is 227 HP? I hope that's to the wheels!

        I'm looking for a 335 brotha. soo hard to find one round 20 grand.

        but yea new engines are always so much fun when upgrades come out for it.

        i dont think it has a chance with the golf R. its a k04!

        i want some more info on this engine tho haha. this is gonna be a new game for the bimmer world.

        The N20 vs. N54 battle is going to be a fun one to watch.

        I think this engine will be trapping 100 to begin with, should be uncomfortably close for the N54 fellows.

        trapping 100 is fast dude.. damn

        i still dont think it will be close to the n54 even with the same bolt ons. It will need a bigger turbo most likely, but I'm just rambling cuz im jealous....

        With bolt on's it will be faster than an N54 stock, no doubt about it.

        I expect this motor to dyno ~220. The N54 is around 270, so likely a 50 whp difference and 6 mph in trap speed. That is just my guess...

        I wonder what the internals can handle, block is probably stout. Would be nice to see 20+ psi on this thing with stock turbo and engine with just chip and meth, somewhere in the 320-350 whp range would be super fun in a 128i.
