and you can do the same thing as a hpf stage 4 kit for 12 grand

Built motor + turbo setup yes but you won't reach the same power level...

Meh i am not sure if you could do it all for that price..

I mean the turbo new is $1800+, good ic $700, EMS $1000+? right there you are $3k... you then need to fab up an exhaust/ic piping/intake manifold/all the lines.. clutch.. $#@! the list goes on.. Injectors... wastegate/BOV/Turbo manifold..

Then you need to build a motor and machine work and all that.. Id say if you were to do it all yourself maybe..

But have someone else do it all for you not so much....

1. steedspeed mani $1500
2.bullseye 82mm turbo $1200
3. dual bosch 044s $400
4. lines and rail $400
5.vipec ecu $1500
6.intercooler $500 with piping
7. exhaust $900 tops with down pipe
8.rods pauter $900
9.pistons $900
10. fully built head $1200
12 misc gaskets bolts seals machine work $1500
13 hpf does not include clutch but hell $1800 for a tilton
14 hell will not build are own intake mani and buy a DI for $2000

That all looks good on paper, but it never works out that way.. add $3k onto that if you have no clue how to build a motor/fabricate lol..


Then you need someone to tune it... And depending on who they are it can go anywhere from $500-1000....


But yes you are right it could be done for less than 1/2 the price of a stage 4 kit if you knew how to build it all yourself...I never said it couldn't be done, just said it was pushing it.... I would also probably stick with the billet 76mm, ive seen how $#@!ty they spool on the M3's i could only imagine if it was 6mm bigger..

You are correct. You can knock off half the money since my motor is already built, but I'm honestly not interested in 1000whp. I'm pretty happy with my current setup, but that doesnt mean I wont be down the line. My motor is being pushed to half of what it can do currently.

If I wanted to go for 800-1000whp it would cost me about 5k from where I stand at the moment.

So its safe to say a 500whp ish E36 will trap in the mid 120's? 126-127?
