Here is the official Audi trailer video for the new RS Q3 which was just revealed. A nice little teaser video which shows off the styling as well as the engine sound of the car. Audi has the the vehicle playing in the snow while chasing and passing a dog sled essentially showing off the Quattro traction and grip in adverse conditions. Your US fans are sufficiently teased Audi. Please, please bring this vehicle to the USA. Pretty please? ...Published on 02-20-2013 01:42 PM
Audi was quick to jump on the announcement after the press photos of the RS Q3 leaked out yesterday. Initially thoughts were that the car would mirror the concept but there are some significant changes. No 360 horsepower from the 2.5 liter inline-5 engine. Instead, power is set at 310 horses apparently in order to avoid stepping on the toes of the SQ5. That's fine, nothing an aftermarket tune won't be able to fix meaning a lot be gained software only on this car. ...Published on 02-19-2013 05:32 PM
Well here is the the 2014 RS Q3 which leaked out a little bit early. Audi stated four RS models would be revealed this year and that makes this the RS Q3 the final model. The previous three being the RS5 convertible, the RS6, and the new RS7. As AudiBoost correctly guessed once the SQ5 made its debut and was announced as slated for the USA the RS Q3 made the most sense as the final RS model simply having been presented in concept form already. ...Published on 02-19-2013 12:00 AM
A lot of 4.0 TFSI hype from APR and if it continues to be data and videos of this quality AudiBoost has no problems putting it all up. Simply an incredible result here for a tune only Audi S7 with the APR Stage I software. How about an improvement in the 1/4 mile from the stock 12.216@112.42 to 11.634@117.83? That is just over 5 miles per hour in trap speed and almost 6/10's in elapsed time all on pump 93 octane tune only. Wow. ...Published on 02-16-2013 05:44 PM
APR sure is hyping their ECU upgrade for the 4.0 TFSI turbo V8 motors in the Audi S6 and A7. Just over a week ago a teaser video was posted showing an overlay of the acceleration between the stock car and the APR tuned car. Yes, quite a large difference between the stock and tuned car. Well, here is another teaser although this time with a dyno graph showing what an APR tuned 4.0 TFSI looks like on 100 octane at all four wheels before/after. ...Published on 02-13-2013 12:24 PM
Well here is the new 2013 Audi S3 Sportback. Nothing shocking here and the car mimics its two door Audi S3 sibling in every way except in the number of doors. So yes it includes the same potent 300 horsepower 2.0 TFSI direct injected turbo four-cylinder powerplant. What is interesting to note is how much weight Audi was able to shave with the total curb weight coming in at just 3,186 pounds which just like the coupe undercuts the previous model by 154 pounds. ...Published on 02-13-2013 03:00 AM
APR has released software for 3.0 TDI diesel equipped Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg vehicles. The upgrade appears to be rather mild with peak figures at the wheels increasing form 218 all wheel horsepower to 225 all wheel horsepower and all wheel torque up from 387 at all four wheels to 419 wheel torque at all four wheels. Peak gains however increase by up to 34 horsepower and 40 pound-feet of torque through the curve. ...Published on 02-12-2013 12:21 AM
Here is a new exhaust option for Audi S6 4.0 TFSI V8 courtesy of Milltek. The exhaust system is turbo back consisting of a front pipes, a center section, rear mufflers, and of course exhaust tips. The system is available either in a resonated or non-resonated version the non-resonated being the louder of the two so if one prefers a quieter the resonated version would be the choice. The 100mm exhaust tips add a nice bit of aggression to the rear of the car. ...Published on 02-07-2013 05:22 PM
Just a couple days ago an article was posted regarding the 4.0 TFSI Stage I tune from APR on an Audi S7. APR decided to release a new video which is very cool and well done showing how the stock speedo compares with the speed of the car running the tune for a nice result. The difference is pretty eye opening with a claimed 60-130 improvement of 2.2 seconds which certainly appears from the video to be accurate. ...Published on 02-06-2013 11:02 PM
Interesting dynograph posted by APR here showing their Stage II software on a 3.0 TFSI B8 S4 versus a competitors Stage I software. The competitor is not named but APR was asked to retune the car and got just under 20 more horsepower at all four wheels out of it to bring it to just over 400 at the wheels on a dynojet in DIN correction. The graph gets choppy at the end where the S-Tronic transmission decided to upshift. ...Published on 02-05-2013 11:11 PM
The 4.0 TFSI V8 in several Audi models is going to become a popular tuner platform due to having top mounted twin turbos and of course due to being in a few Audi models those being S6, S7, and A8 4.0 TFSI. The car in the video is an S7 4.0 TFSI and does not have any additional modifications other than the APR software. No word on the power gains, pricing, or fuel used in the video but the car clearly hustles. ...Published on 02-04-2013 08:31 PM
Audi's attitude certainly is showing and rightfully so with the giant steps forward the brand has taken as of late. Their Super Bowl ad titled "Prom" fits the culture Audi is cultivating promoting brave attitude in styling and performance. The commercial features a young man who does not have a date to his high school prom and his father (as a good father should) tosses him the keys to his new Audi S8 telling him to have fun... which he certainly does. ...Published on 02-03-2013 01:32 AM
This is kind of an odd result. Lately, BMW has been losing a lot of comparison tests. Based on the numbers in this one as well as what the author writes, the Audi S7 should really be the winner. It's the quickest and fastest through the 1/4 mile. It is the best handling of the three with the highest skidpad number (tied with the 650i) and the quickest through the figure eight test. And with a price just under $30k less (yes $30k!) as tested than the 650i why in the world did it come in second? ...Published on 01-31-2013 12:40 PM
Was somebody saying the horsepower war is dead? Because it just seems to be intensifying. Audi appears to be responding to the E63/CLS63 AMG facelift which will have all wheel drive and 585 horsepower in optional S-trim. 600 horsepower would put the RS6 at the top of the mid-size luxury performance sport sedan game especially when combined with Audi's Quattro. Audi seems to be determined to not be one-upped by anyone. ...Published on 01-30-2013 01:51 PM
Hot on the heels of the Audi A3 sedan spyphotos the Audi S3 cabriolet spyphotos are making their internet rounds. This car will be based on the exact same 8V generation A3 chassis as the sedan but will obviously lose the four doors. Expect the convertible to mirror the S3 hatchback exactly featuring the same all wheel drive, seven speed S-Tronic dual clutch, and the 300 horsepower 2.0 liter direct injected turbocharged four-cylinder motor. ...Published on 01-29-2013 03:11 PM
Here is Supersprint's full exhaust system for the new Audi S5 featuring the 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 motor. The system includes headers, mufflers, and an X-pipe. The parts appear to be the usual high quality from Supersprint. With just the full exhaust itself, output rises to 356 horsepower on the dyno at the crank to 369.2. Torque figures go from 340 pound-feet of torque up to 354 pound-feet of torque for a gain of 14. ...Published on 01-28-2013 11:33 PM
Congratulations to the Audi customer GT teams which ran at this past weekends 24 Hours of Daytona. The Alex Job Racing team took the overall GT victory and team APR Motorsport came in second. Both teams running Audi R8 Grand AM cars which use a motor derived from the factory R8 5.2 V10 FSI. The third Audi team, Rum Bum Racing, was also in the hunt making up tremendous ground after a stop-and-go and time penalty but they ran out of fuel on the last lap forcing the car to coast in. ...Published on 01-25-2013 06:50 PM
Well the Audi A3 sedan is official and it is coming to the United States. It was recently spotted testing and although it is heavily camouflaged one can still tell this is an A3 and it is a sedan. The front headlights do not appear to have differed much from the concept although the rear lights and rear proportions seemed to have changed a bit. Let's pray it looks as good as the stunning A3 sedan concept which was basically an RS3 preview. ...Published on 01-24-2013 11:30 PM
The crazy thing about this video is you can do this legally in Germany. Seriously, Germans, you have it good and never let them take the autobahn away from you. Basically a Kawasaki ZX-10 and a tuned C6 RS6 by ABT stated to have 700 horses (well within line with the twin turbo V10... which the USA never got) go balls out on the Autobahn. The bike actually tops out its speedometer which reads 299 km/h or about 186 miles per hour although it sure appears both keep accelerating past that speed. ...Published on 01-23-2013 08:31 PM
Technology marches on and for the most part it makes life easier. That is Audi's goal with their announcement that they will begin to show completely autonomous driving of their vehicles at the Consumer Electronics Expo in Las Vegas. Audi believes these systems could make production by 2016 although an exact date is not set (roughly sometime in the next decade). That begs the question, how many of you are comfortable handing complete control of your vehicle to a computer? ...
