Renntech continues to raise the bar. Just recently, they set the new overall Mercedes 1/4 mile record and now they have set a new record for the supercharged M113 55 motors. Renntech did not post the slip, which is unfortunate, but does have video showing the run below. It was done at Palm Beach International Raceway which isn't known as being the fastest track making this all the more impressive. We have seen a lot of back and forth regarding the C63 Black Series motor. Will it have the M157 twin turbo V8? Will it get the M156? Well, an e-mail has gone out to a select few sources suggesting the M156 is confirmed. It is said to have 507 horsepower, exactly what the CLK63 Black Series had. Mercedes has not confirmed this but all sites reporting are pointing toward an M156 derivative now with some saying internal sources have confirmed this. The 2012 SLS AMG Roadster is coming very, very soon. We have seen it testing for a while in camo which is kind of funny considering the SLS coupe is on the market already. WOW! The records just keep up on falling. Here is the first C63 AMG to break into the 10.3 range setting a new quickest 1/4 mile record in the process. By now everyone should be familiar with Keith's C63 (goes by the name DadsC63). Car has MHP modifications and nitrous. To be noted, this pass would done Bradenton Motorsports Park which is in Florida. This could very well have been a new overall Mercedes record at MIR. The Mercedes SLS AMG in stock form is a beautiful car, difficult to improve on. Sometimes less is more and we think this is a good example. We do not understand why they modified the front in this manner that just gives the car a gaping hole up front. The rear seems to be ok even though the tiny tips seem out of place. As reported a few days ago, the E63 AMG will get the M157 turbo V8 motor. We know have more photos of the car and it simply is beautiful. From the front LED's to the gorgeous side profile this is truly one of the premier sedans on the market. We are all waiting on Mercedes to reveal the new ML but we received at least a piece of the puzzle today. Dutch auto spy photographers snapped some pics of an ML testing with an exposed rear. Some will say this guy is a poser, and that may be warranted, but you have to respect the work that went into this recreation. Sure, this car won't have the power, motor, suspension, lightweight parts, brakes, and we could go on, but it looks strikingly similar to the real thing. The body conversion cost about $20,000. The new ML is coming folks and with it a new ML AMG. In case you had any doubts about the motor being the M157 this motor should alleviate them as it does not sound like an M156 and instead more like a muffled V8, one likely being muffled by two turbos. The powertrain will no doubt mirror the other new 63 models but that is no surprise. What is a surprise is just how fast the new ML63 looks and how flat it corners. Everyone knows the new Fast and Furious movie, Fast Five is coming. Based on a scene in the movie, Autotopias organized a competition based around having a getaway vehicle that would do well in a heist similar to what the actors in the movie needed to pull off. This is the 210 horsepower turbo 4 cylinder concept A-class, and we love it. The styling is aggressive and futuristic. The drivetrain choices are great with a turbo 4 and a dual clutch transmission. The thing looks like it should be much higher than just an entry level Mercedes. Will they actually build it? The car here is a W203 C230 C-Class. The car has an M272 E25 (2.5 liter) V6 stock which puts out 201 horsepower. The motor isn't a powerhouse but OE Tuning extracted more power out of it with gains of just about 9 horsepower at the wheels and 10 pound-feet at the wheels on 91 octane pump. Well, we knew sooner or later the E-class would get the new twin turbo M157 V8 motor. Seems Mercedes went with sooner as in the next few months the E63 will dropping the M156 naturally aspirated V8 for the twin turbo motor. There is classy modification and then there is... this. This "Mercedes" is for sale on Ebay apparentl, and we were just amazed that someone subjected this poor car to these tasteless modifications leading to a very confused vehicle. Audi style headlights? The Mclaren team continues its strong showing this season, winning the Shanghai Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished in first after starting in 3rd place. Teammate Jenson Button started in second and finished fourth. The Mercedes-Petronas team had its best result of the season with Nico Rosberg finishing in 5th place and Michael Schumacher in 8th. Here are the preliminary results for JRCART's CLK63 Black Series running the Weistec supercharger. The car has the Weistec race supercharger package which includes the Weistec heads, cams, and fuel system including larger injectors. The car ran 14.5 psi of boost on stock internals which is incredible really. That is a lot of boost for the stock internals to handle. The tires were slipping on the dyno due to the power which can be seen in the graph so these are just preliminary results. Here is our take on the upcoming AMG SLK with the help of our graphic design artist Wild-Speed. We all know an AMG SLK is coming as it has been testing. What we do not know is what motor it will have as there have been many rumors ranging from the M157 twin turbo V8 to a special naturally aspirated 5.5 liter V8. Prior Design in Germany has opened North American offices and with it they have announced their R230 widebody kit for US customers. This is probably the best looking widebody we have seen looking aggressive without going overboard. It is available for all R230 SL models and will update any SL to the facelift headlights. We are waiting on pricing details and will update this post when we receive them. German tuner Wheelsandmore has tackled the new CLS63 AMG. We are a bit disappointed with their results though, only 580 horsepower? This doesn't even really improve much upon the performance pack offered for the M157 twin turbo V8 from Mercedes. The base car offers 518 horsepower and the Performance Package 549 so, kind of a weak showing from Wheelsandmore. ...
