Interesting race to see here due to Gallardo being involved although it is terribly one sided. The Weistec C63 AMG Black Series once again shows the power of the 3.0 liter twin screw blower on the M156 V8 even at "only" 11 psi of boost with a 91 octane pump gas tune. The LP-560 is no slouch with stock trap speeds in the 127 mile per hour range capable of low 11's in the 1/4 mile in stock form. Mercedes-Benz continues to squeeze out every variant they can in an effort to retake the luxury sales crown. A C-Class cabriolet model makes all the sense in the world considering with the previous W204 generation Mercedes-Benz started selling a coupe. The only problem here is the overlap that will be created with the current E-Class coupe cabriolet which already uses a good amount of C-Class parts. Very nice results here from Weistec engineering for their M157 twin turbo 5.5 liter V8 tune along with their M157 downpipe upgrade on a stock turbo M157 on both 91 octane and 93 octane pump fuel. The tune alone on 91 octane pump gas was previously shown as providing 618 wheel horsepower on a Dynojet. The addition of the Weistec downpipes combined with the ECU tune raises this output on 91 octane to 647 wheel horsepower in SAE correction. ...Published on 04-13-2013 07:01 AM
This might sound odd considering the new M157 Twin Turbo V8 from AMG is making a straightline missile out of almost everything it goes into in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. The problem facing the 2013 G63 AMG is that it is heaviest car this motor has gone into and even its 560 pound-feet of torque can't hide the heft of 5940 pounds. These new 63 AMG cars just getting faster and faster every day. Renntech was able to set a new quickest and fastest 1/4 mile record for the platform with three very quick runs. The quickest elapsed time is 10.620 and the fastest trap speed is 137.04 miles per hour. These both edge out the previous record which also was set by Renntech which was a run of 10.797@130.77 at the exact same drag strip as the new record which is PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) in Florida. ...Published on 04-10-2013 04:32 AM
Some very interesting sibling rivalry to see here especially for M156 V8 63 AMG enthusiasts. Both cars here are Black Series with the W209 CLK63 AMG Black Series obviously being the older of the two using the 7G transmission with a torque converter and the W204 C63 AMG Black Series being the newer car featuring the newer 7-speed MCT Speedshift automatic which does not have a torque converter. Both cars have the M156 6.2 liter V8 although the C63 AMG Black Series has stronger engine internals and makes more power from the factory. ...Published on 04-09-2013 05:03 PM
A nice result here for a supercharged R171 generation SLK 55 AMG. The car features a Kleemann supercharger, Dyno-Comp upgraded injectors, Evotech Motorsport Tuning (although Dyno-Comp claims it is their ECU upgrade/tune for some reason), and MBH headers. On 91 octane pump gas the result is 421.9 wheel horsepower on the Dyno-Comp Dyno Dynamics dyno. Wow, it is getting difficult to keep up with all the records and milestones on the M157 5.5 liter (63 AMG bi-turbo) V8 as tuners compete for supremacy Renntech was able to set a new milestone by pushing the motor over 700 wheel horsepower on pump gas. There are other tuners in the 700's but they are currently all on race fuel 100+ octane. The new ML63 is a beast thanks to the M157 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 under the hood. And AMG though is supposed to be about far more than just a big motor and straightline speed but unfortunately the new ML63 reminds us that AMG just is not quite as track focused as its rivals, Black Series notwithstanding. Very nice result here from a W211 E55 AMG with the Weistec 3.0 liter twin screw M113K V8 supercharger upgrade which we previously have seen run a 10.7@132. The car has the same modifications as it did previously which consist of the 3.0 liter twin screw blower of course, the Weistec 82mm throttle body, headers, drag radials, but with the main difference of 100 octane race fuel versus a blend which was used previously and ice in the trunk cooler. ...Published on 04-02-2013 02:21 PM
Very impressive results here from a completely stock E550 coupe. The M278 4.6 liter twin turbo V8 is looking more and more impressive powering this particular vehicle belonging to BenzBoost member nawlinstornado to a 12.428@115.13. That elapased time was achieved with the factory runflat Continental tires and no limited slip differential. The new CLA45 AMG is a very exciting entry level vehicle that is going to be a big part of the Mercedes-Benz AMG tuning scene and BenzBoost for years to come. With a 2.0 liter turbocharged and direct injected M133 four-cylinder pushing 26 pounds of boost stock producing 360 horsepower sent to all four wheels with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission this car is something of a German Evo. Nice comparison here between a W204 C63 AMG and a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. Both cars have the same sized motor with the C63 having a 6.2 liter M156 V8 and the Cadillac CTS-V coupe with a 6.2 liter LSA V8. The difference being that the LSA V8 has a supercharger in addition to the displacement while the C63 is naturally aspirated or "all motor." And the turbo upgrade M157 dyno numbers just keep on coming in. So far we have seen race gas numbers from Weistec as well as AMS Performance and both have shown massive power at the wheels. Here are the Dynojet dyno numbers from Renntech who dyno'd their car on 93 octane pump gas. The result? The Malaysia Grand Prix sure was interesting with some fighting amongst teammates taking place. It's no secret Sebastian Vettel wants to win every single time he goes out to race and he did exactly that but had to disobey team orders to do so. Vettel made a controversial pass on teammate Mark Webber which got him the victory as well as first place in the championship standings. Some eye opening power here from a C63 AMG with a built engine, Weistec Stage 3 3.0 liter supercharger, Weistec tuning, and nitrous. The result with the laughing gas is 929 wheel horsepower on a dynojet. On the blower alone without the nitrous the result is 646 wheel horsepower. So, a gain of 283 wheel horsepower with the nitrous on top of the Stage 3 3.0 liter blower on a built motor. That is enough for a new wheel horsepower record. ...Published on 03-22-2013 02:55 AM
The M157 scene just continues to heat up and already we are seeing tuners go back and forth breaking records. Weistec recently hit 727 wheel horsepower with their turbo upgrade package on 100 octane race gas. This stood as the M157 horsepower record since January but AMS has broken this record with a 787 wheel horsepower pull. Here it is, the new AMG pocket rocket the 2014 CLA45 AMG. This will now be the entry level AMG model in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. All details have previously been leaked so you should know it has the world's most powerful production four-cylinder motor with its 360 horsepower M133 turbocharged and direct injected 2.0 liter. Great results yet again from a Weistec upgrade Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicle. This particular E55 AMG has the Weistec 3.0 liter supercharger upgrade for the W211 E55 AMG and M113K equipped Mercedes AMG vehicles. So what is the result? How about a 10.757@132.92 miles per hour at the MIR drag strip.
