Here is how to remove the turbo. It seems like it bolts off the manifold.

Not to knock this product but you have to remove the engine and spend 6grand? Might as well spend 1/3 of the billet wheel cost and tune the V12 BiTurbo to 600hp and 700tq (easily). I believe I have heard people getting 60whp and 80wtq on these cars with a tune.

If you can remove the turbo I don't understand why we haven't had upgrades much earlier.

Yes, true. We haven't seen any power gain to justify this yet but there are a lot of turbo upgrades for the stock K24's from the Porsche world that would make a huge difference...

Actually, from what I read here it says the turbo must not be disassembled. Look at point 15: "Turbocharger and exhaust manifold are one unit and must not be disassembled, as this can lead to leakage."

My ADHD didn't allow me to read the whole steps loool Interesting, so back to your original comment. How do you upgrade these???

Also there are price differences in Turbos as well. I wonder if the 65 turbo might be a little bigger? If so that might be an option for the 600 guys.


65 AMG turbo A 275 090 29 80 = 3,052 each
600 turbo A 275 090 12 80 = 2,392 each

I don't know, that is what bugs me. No one has answered this question.

If it was possible to simply bolt off the turbo, there are tons of upgrades from the Porsche world that would carry over and we would see these motors doing some insane things.

I don't see why there would be a price difference? From my understanding they are the exact same K24 turbos.

Anything with a V12 you have to remove the engine. There is no room to work in there...at ALL. even the NA V12s.

I think that is reflected in the price, that would make sense.

I would just have a shop remove the engine should not cost more then 1500 for a uninstall and reinstall. talk the turbos off my self. And send them to get a porsche billet wheel upgrade. for 1/4 of the price

The exhaust side is cast into the manifold, how do you do that?

I know it's a different turbo and vehicle, but the Nissan GT-R turbos are also integrated to a cast manifold from the exhaust side and they have been modified by several different tuners.

I don't see why that cant be done to the K24s unless I'm missing something besides that precaution that they could leak if taken apart?

I didn't realize that, you raise a very good point.

Why can't they take it apart and then seal it? I don't know, the K24's are easy to modify...

i agree, it woudl be cheapter to port and add a bigger CHRA wheel and call it a day.

Maybe there is something more to it.
Could it be that tuners feel there isn't a big enough market for it and will not sell?
Then again, Sticky mentioned that the K24s are the same turbos used in the Porsche community so there should be a way to use/carry over those on to the M275.
Could it be a tuning issue rather than a hardware issue?

I would really love to see what these motors can really put out.
