      We like maximum performance all year round. This video just goes to show how important it is to make sure you have the proper tires for the conditions. Winter and summer tires are compared in the snow on an F25 X3.

        On summertires you are totally f*cked in snow. High performance tires are even worse than the eco-stuff.
        And as this video shows, 4-wheel drive also helps. But takes the fun out of it a little Click here to enlarge

        I was surprised that on winter tires it was able to put the power down and stick as well as it was.

        As long as there's snow on the road, you have lots of grip. It's not the same as on tarmac ofcourse, but compared to gravell with summertires is's better.
        On icey roads the wintertires are also in trouble. You will need wheelchains or spiked tires for those conditions.
