      BMW has been doing a lot of promotional activity before the Paris show. It has stemmed from their dontblogaboutthis.com website which has been teasing us for so long our mouse cursor has turned blue. We did as they asked, and didn't blog or write about it, because we found the lame (sorry, they were lame) teasers quite boring. It was just an old 6 series being shown, yawn. So what changed? The most recent teaser showed what looked like the Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept. Well, that got our attention. It seems BMW is ready to unveil the production version at the Paris Autoshow, as in, in the next 24 hours.

      The 6 series that was shown driving around we believe was testing the drivetrain for the production vehicle. BMW is all about being green and nice right now so a hybrid diesel is most likely the powertrain. Ok, calm down, not exactly what you want from an R8 rivaling sports car, I know. They have to do this to show us the "efficiency" aspect so that it can pave the way for the N63/S63 twin turbo V8 to make its way in there. If they only plan on offering the hybrid powertrain, that won't satisfy the power hungry among us who are getting frustrated there is no real sports car offering from BMW. We are hoping when this is unveiled it paves the way to a twin turbo mid-engine sports car, a real M1. That, or we get to start talking about mpg numbers instead of dyno or 1/4 mile numbers.

        Whats the deal with this it hasn't shown up yet or is it not being unveiled today?

        Still plenty of time to do reveals at Paris, hopefully they show it.

        Now this just pisses me off. First off , this car is nothin new. Its all over youtube. Then they photoshop it to reintroduce it as sneek peeks with a 6 series rear half as if its a whole new car. Then they say , oh wait til sept 30 like its the BIG day. Then on the 'big day' they wait til late hours eastern time to unviel nothing but a quick video of a car that we pretty much seen already. Enough with the BS already BMW. SHOW US THE CAR IN WHOLE.

        I prefer BMW over Audi but u must admit, audi marketing is better because when i first seen that R8 Superbowl commercial, i was blown away. I said , Damn , thats a hot car. Shortly after, it was available and its the talk of the town even til 2day. BMW needs to stop playing because all they are doing is making their new car old before its even released. And Audi, oh they now know BMWs next move. If BMW was to drop the VED now , it would smash the R8 but in 2012-13 Audi will probably have a revised R8 to compete . Come on BMW if youre reading . Drop the VED NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
