      The Active Autowerke Tune for the N63 motors is here. Gains seem to be pretty good with almost 40 whp gained and almost 44 pound-feet of torque. We are not sure what the price is as it was not posted but will update here when Active gets back to us. When looking at the graph, most of the gains are early on. These turbo BMW motors are not gaining much from being revved out, they are actually losing HP. The curve is not as impressive as the NA counterparts and clearly some head or cam work would benefit these motors if they are going to be revved out. Otherwise, it is best to shift early.

        We will most probably see every tom dick and harry release N63 software now once files have become available. How does the curve compare to Dinans?

        I think that falling torque curve has more to do with the turbos' size than the valve-train. Could also be the tune not holding boost properly. To be honest, I'm not that impressed for it being a TT 4.4L V8, although that low end torque would be nice for cruising.

        Definitely some truth to this but even if you look at the S63 with its different turbos the torque still falls off hard. Likely a combination of both, but the dropoff is still there. The motor has a very strong low end.

        Hard to say how it compares to Dinan's when Dinan does not release dyno graphs.
