      G-power is claiming they have hit a new top speed record of 372 km/h. This was done by the twin supercharged E60 M5 Hurricane RR with a special body kit designed for top end aerodynamics. We don't doubt they hit this number but who was this verified by? We only have the G-power press release to go on, no GPS readout, no video, nothing. We are not saying we don't take G-power at their word, but this record needs verification.

        it says they were running mich PS's. i cant believe they were able to get to that speed. aren't they y-rated? y or z rated tires cannot go to that level. 186 i think is the max, but the envelope can be pushed i guess, but 23x is another story. i heard of some tires though that could, like the veryons, but those are absurdly priced. i think the tires are called V-Max.

        No, it seems they had the right tires for the job. The Pilot Sport Cup has a very high speed rating, not sure if that was the pilot sport they were referencing there are a few different models:

        Two tons of weight and a top speed of 372.1 km/h naturally require extreme demands on the tires, being fitted on special G-POWER forged wheels. Our technology partner Michelin provided high-performance Pilot Sport tires in the dimensions 255/35 ZR 19 at the front axle and 305/30 ZR 19 at the rear axle for this reason.

        there is no normal tire you can buy that is rated for speeds like 230, 240 and up (except maybe those v-max tires i mentioned earlier). obviosuly they were able to do it and survive lol but i sure as hell wouldnt trust normal "street" michi tires at speed above even 200.

        That brings up a good point, what tires are these guys at the Texas Mile using for 200+? I have asked on multiple forums but never received a clear cut answer as if it is some big secret.
