      Here it officially is and what many of you have been waiting for, the Weistec M157 bi-turbo upgrades including upgraded turbos, exhaust, and downpipes. Many of you have already seen the power figures as these upgrades powered the M157 to a new horsepower record with 727 at the wheels and also were seen in real world action at the recent No Fly Zone event showing impressive performance against stout competition including Wesitec's own Stage III M156 supercharger.

      Let's start with the turbo upgrade which is priced at $8,495:

      Now onto the downpipes which are available also for the M278 V8 along with the M157. The downpipe upgrade includes test pipes and midpipes along with a heat shield, gaskets, and associated hardware. Pricing is $4,795 and they are titanium ceramic coated on the outside with copper ceramic coating on the inside. The midpipes bolt right up to the downpipes and also the factory axle-back system for seamless installation.

        Okay the turbos are a great upgrade, and kudo's for Weistec to be out in the lead as usual.

        Love Weistec products. Those guys know what they are doing for sure. If I had an AMG, I would be hard pressed to look anywhere else for products.

        The information in the article is well done. And the pictures, in order is great. Excellent layout Sticky. Made in Romania I take it? They appear to well conceived, engineered and built components. Quality does not come cheap, as I can see from the pricing.

        Boutique European manufacturers typically charge serious money, but quality is there.

        Their E63 that they has these upgrades mounted on is an absolute monster, at the 1/2 mile airstrip event it ran neck and neck if not slightly quicker than my Weistec stage 3 C BS in the 1/4 mile, my C did not pull it until the big end. I was blown away when I saw getting pulled on the front half by a big heavy four door sedan.

        Any idea how much power and torque can be expected from an E63 on 91 octane with the downpipes and a tune?

        The guys at AMS stated they couldn't get a clean tach signal which is not uncommon on big hp turbo cars.
        Not sure why you can't understand that, which is probably why you got neg repped. AMS has a lot of experience with big hp turbo cars, no reason why they can't do the same thing with the M157.

        My local shop that does ST, could do it custom for about $1K.

        I don't think the price is due to the materials alone but the engineering that went into it. If you ask them I'm sure you will have a better understanding. What I was told directly is that it was over 6 months work and nobody else has a solution like this.

        It would be better to have nothing? Other companies need to spend the money and do the engineering themselves. They deserve to recoup their cost and make money. Nobody is stopping competitors...
