Stage 2 supercharger showdown between a ESS VT2-625 DCT E92 M3 and Weistec Stage 2 C63 AMG - Centrifugal supercharger versus positive displacement twin screw

Here is an interesting comparison between similarly matched cars both with supercharger kits pushing similar boost. The M3 is a DCT car with the ESS-VT2 625 kit. It's hard to say what pulley or power it is putting down as ESS has shown numbers all over the place swapping pulleys and tunes as it suits them for marketing purposes but the "quoted" specs are 7.0 psi of boost from a Vortech V3si blower good for roughly 530 whp on pump gas with the stock exhaust. This vehicle was running race gas with a modified exhaust so its output is likely a bit higher.
The Weistec Stage 2 blower is a 91 octane pump gas setup good for 538 wheel horsepower with aftermarket headers thanks to 7 psi of boost from the 2.3 liter supercharger. So, similar figures and but difference approaches with the C63 having a positive displacement twin screw blower providing instant and steady boost whereas the M3 has a centrifugal which builds boost with rpm.
The cars are very evenly matched and basically neck and neck. The M3 proving it is more than capable of running door to door despite its displacement (torque) disadvantage thanks to its weight, transmission, gearing, and redline advantage. Simply a great race.
