      Car Magazine makes pretty bold claims and they do so to get attention and sell magazines. They tend to go more the National Enquirer route especially with things like these renderings. They did this before when the E92 M3 was coming out saying their pictures were 100% accurate but they were not 100% accurate. They were close enough though and based on BMW's recent styling language and concepts the real deal should not be far from this.

      Is it exciting though? Sure, it looks better than an F30 3-Series it just feels like it is missing a hint of aggression. When the E46 M3 hit with its power dome in the hood it looked mean. When the E92 M3 was revealed the design evolved and it was more aggressive. This just feels a bit too mild.

      We all just have to wait for the real deal, enjoy the renderings.

        This is funny. You're all forgetting something. This is just a rendering. I am more inclined to seeing this car being a mini M5.

        theres no way they put those rims on it and have the same rims across m5 m6 m3 m2 etc.... also if you did just flare the rear more like all m3s have been it would look much better.

        Yellow isnt doing any good either.

        isnt the grill double spoked for the M3/M4 in the recent spy pics? Dont know if this is the real thing.... seems to normal...

        I agree, the fenders need some widening, this almost looks like a "M Special" 3 series (or whatever they call it) as opposed to an M3. I also am not liking the strange creases near both headlights - it almost looks like it was a mistake, but they said "oh well, it's symmetrical... that's good enough - we're just going to give them a tuned N55 anyways" Click here to enlarge

        In all honesty, it's not that bad - and it's hard to see what a car will "really" look like until it's seen in person. A good example is the Panamera - a lot of people didn't like the car when viewing photos, but their thoughts change when they see it in person.

        I just hope the engine, although FI - will be as good as they were in the past... I know it's nearly impossible to kill all of the lag - and get the same responsiveness, but one can wish. They do this and I don't care what the hell it looks like.
        Sorry, but my thoughts didn't change on the Panamera... it's even uglier in person; one of the most hideous on the road IMO.

        That being said, this car is way too conservative. It looks like it has stock F30 fenders; and that ain't gonna happen. If it was given a widebody, it wouldn't be too bad (though I'm no fan of 4 doors styling-wise)

        Looks like a car with a personality disorder to me. If they wanted to go for the gran coupe look, then they need to fully go for it; not make it a stretch-limo version of a 991.
