Very interesting race between a PP-Performance tuned M157 bi-turbo CLS63 AMG and a Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador. The run is from a very high speed starting at 150 km/h which is just under 100 miles per hour. The race goes until 180 miles per hour so the cars definitely both stretch their legs. The CLS63 AMG stats out slightly in front and gets the jump on the Aventador. The cars are very closely matched although the Aventador does appear to close the gap a bit.
Regardless, it shows in a top end roll a tuned M157 can hold off an Aventador which is impressive. MotorTrend has tested the Aventador at 10.6@133.9 in the 1/4 mile so it is most likely quicker than a tune only M157. PP-P claims 750 horsepower for this CLS63 AMG so likely more going on than just a tune with exhaust mods as well.
Either way, great run against stout competition showing the M157 strength. It would be nice to see this in the dry however doing high speed pulls like this in the rain is asking for trouble.
