      And another widebody option for the E92 M3 enters the market. Introducing the Duke Dynamics E92 M3 widebody kit. This kit consists of nine pieces including the front fenders, rear fenders, side skirts, front bumper, rear bumper, and rear diffuser. Options for the material of the body pieces are either FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) for $5,650 or carbon fiber for $9,050. The pricing makes the kit a very good value namely in FRP.

      Additional options are a front lip in FRP or carbon fiber, CSL style trunk, and a GT3 style vented hood. Expect to see the kit make its debut at BimmerFest courtesy of BimmerBoost.

        I have a question - not sure who here has an aftermarket hood, but figure this is a good place to ask.

        One thing that I noticed on my current car (e90 M3) is that the paint on the hood seems to be of lower quality than it was on my e46 M3. What I mean by this, is I have a pretty decent "spraying" of rock chips over the front foot or so of the hood. I can show some pictures if anyone wants, but it's pretty explanatory. I am not sure if this is because of my higher average speed in the car (yes, I am serious) - or what, but the car is a little over 2 years and is in worse condition than the (at the time) e46 M3 of 4-5 years. This really doesn't bother me, as it's not as bad as it sounds - and kinda gives the car character (war wounds) <g>... I am just curious if a new hood makes sense in this case when the time comes.

        The other question is - if an OEM hood was replaced with something like this, would there be any issues? In other words, do people do this solely for cosmetic reasons, or are the hoods functional/proven? Will it rattle at 120 MPH? Will it be of shoddy fit? <-- Things like that... I again - could care less about the cosmetic attributes -- I really only care about the functionality of it to be honest...

        I guess if it's a good OEM substitute, and won't have any issues for people who drive the car like it should, it makes sense to replace the OEM with something lighter. Just trying to see if I should repaint my hood - or buy a new lightweight one... At this price, I don't see why one wouldn't bite for the lower weight, but don't see them too often - so am wondering what the reasons are.

        For the most part a cosmetic piece but offers venting of hot air from the engine bay as well.

        This looks cool, im not big into wide bodies usually just because I think that BMW spends ton's of money into building a car a certain way. But for each their own.

        I hope someone gets it and makes it look good. WITHOUT matte paint.
