      A major congratulations is in order to Wesitec Engineering for yet another world's first and yet another record on an AMG platform. Weistec was able to hit an eye opening 727 wheel horsepower courtesy of their M157 turbo upgrade, Weistec downpipes, Weistec exhaust, Weistec tuning, air filters, as well as their own M157 cooling package. A nice combination of modifications which resulted in 727 wheel horsepower and 730 wheel pound-feet of torque.


      The upgraded turbos feature the factory OEM Garrett housing which is modified with new parts including new compressor wheels. It is also impressive to see Weistec setting records so quickly on the the M157 platform after having essentially mastered the M156. Simply phenomenal progression. Dyno below, on 100 octane, Dynojet, SAE correction:


      The previous horsepower record was held by Renntech with a pull of 627 wheel horsepower and was done on the stock turbos. The upgraded turbo era of the M157 is here. Pricing information on the upgrade to come soon. Congratulations again to Weistec Engineering, video below.

        So 100 whp over stock turbos? Quiet impressive and this is their first offering too. Great job Weistec! This company is truly world class. All their products are OE quality stuff. Worthy of those AMG masterpieces.

        I do not run into too many doubters, once in a while I run into a hater, but thats different. Anyone that doubts them at this point just stands to make themself look ignorant. They keep coming to market first with game changing products while their competion scrambles to try to catch them or copy them.

        That big E is only a few ponies off from giving Earl and I a run for our money and I have a feeling this is just the begining for them with the M157 product line.

        Good god! What an animal.. When the M157's come down a little in price, I don't see any way for me to keep myself from grabbing one.

        Any guess what this thing would trap on slicks as it stands??

        Oh not this again. There are turbo BMW's over 1000 whp. Anyway, mine will likely be there and we will see who goes home with a smile on their face.

        Regardless, let's keep this on this topic of the turbo upgrade and record.

        If only AMG would make a Black Series with the M157 I'd be all over it. I can't believe how ridiculous these cars are becoming. Congrats to Weistec, very impressive.

        Comparing to the Renntech dyno, they don't appear to increase lag either but rather improve it at 650 ft-lbs at 3k RPMs for Weistec and close to 3750 RPMs for Renntech. Might have to do with the better downpipes as well though.

        Thanks for the compliments guys! We know dyno numbers are only dyno numbers and we plan on running the car real soon for some real world results.

        As far as lag, the billet wheels are much lighter than that of the factory, yet larger in diameter. This gives us much less lag and much more power, not to mention our downpipe setup that is much less restrictive than anything in the market. These parts have been on the drawing board for quite some time. They need to be just right. If not it will compromise the characteristics of the car.
