      Here are fantastic photos of the facelifted driveline going into the 2014 E63 and CLS63 AMG vehicles. The first couple photos show the turbochargers and their location. It looks like most everything is the same although Benzboost is not sure if the turbos themselves have undergone any changes to coincide with the raised 585 horsepower output in the S variant. The S option of course also coming with 4Matic all wheel drive. Mercedes neatly highlights the hot/cold side as well as the cooling lines.

      The upgraded transmission is pictured along with the beefy looking front differential necessary for the all wheel drive sitting under the motor. The transmission responsible for handling all the torque and sending it to all four wheels also just looks huge in these photos. The front driveshaft also appears to be a stout piece. AMG clearly displaying this all wheel drive system is not an afterthought, it is very well thought out and engineered.

      The turbo manifold is also on display showing how it feeds directly into a sizable cat. Downpipes on the M157 no doubt will provide large gains essentially if the upstream cat is eliminated.

        I like this 4wd setup way better than the setup Audi usually uses.
        Here the fwd axle goes from the transmission to the front and the front axle goes (presumably) through the sump (I dont think its a dry sump system?)
        Audi uses a system where the fwd axle is a breakout of the transmission, hence the engine is always situated in front of the front axle, which is an unnecessary nose heavy layout.

        I wonder if this engine sits higher in the frame than the normal rwd layout they used to have. (if so, not by much)
