Here is a dyno comparison at the crank from the MKVI Golf R one of which is equipped with the APR Stage II+ kit which utilizes the stock K04 turbo and the Stage III kit which utilizes a Garret GTX series turbo. The Stage III offers more power but what the spool is what is impressive as there is much more top end without a big sacrifice in lag. The graph shows only about a couple hundred RPM difference between the stock and upgraded turbo.
The power difference is huge however with the Stage II+ car putting down 357 horsepower and the Stage III with 444 horsepower. Torque numbers are 359 pound-feet and 452 pound-feet respectively.
The Stage II car has and upgraded HPFP, intercooler, and exhaust. The Stage III likely includes the aforementioned plus the upgraded turbo. Very nice upgrades for the Golf R from APR
