And we're walking... Funny thing is the Porsche nearly jumped and let off, that let off and then rebuilding of boost just adds to the impressiveness of the car. Love to see some more of this car

This is really just more of a raw power beatdown. The weight is a factor but it's really just big power that wins.

Without knowing the exact output of either car, it's a guess. Stock for stock there's about 400lbs difference in curb weight between the cars.

They should run the race again with 3 models in the Porsche. They would need to be ~130lbs each, and nude so that clothing is not a factor in the weight computations.

The 996 trapped 149 and is supposedly over 1000 whp...

The GTR is reportedly making 652 AWHP (93 octane), the P-car was running C16 -- He's saying best numbers were 986 AWHP on a DynoJet. Straight out of the owner's sig:

148 is a serious trap speed thats low 9's with traction for sure.

Yes,but on a 996tt Porsche 148 trap is only good for high 9s. The 996/997 are roll-on and standing mile monsters but not so much at the 1/4mi

But anyays,I was told by a well respected 6sp mod that the reason the 996/997s dont launch hard&produce stellar E.T.s is that the drive train does not take to kindly to extreme launchs on a sticky prepped track..I.E-they will break expensive components.
May or may not be true,could be an excuse or whatever but regardless,I'm not scared of any P-car from a dig.
Now from a roll or even a standing mile thats another story,those $#@!ers love to run on the big end and throw 1100-1300whp in the mix and thats a recipe for some hurt feelings if you call one out on the highway. A few of them would definitely give my streetbike a good run for its money

I've seen Eddie wheelie that Porsche on the NJ Pike vs Vinny Ten in a Supra... Talk about an epic display of power, he would drive that thing to ETown like it was normal LOL. Anyway Eddie and Vinny's crews had exchanged some words at ETown during one of the import clashes way back when. The long and short is Vinny trailed his Supra and Eddie drove the Porsche and it kinda got under Vinny's skin. Fast forward and they are both at the first rest stop on the NJ Pike leaving the track. Some more words are exchanged and Vinny is now backing the Supra out the trailer. These two proceed to pull onto the Pike using all the tow vehicles to block traffic in the truck lanes. Truck are going mad blowing there horns and these two line and run. Eddie launches and rides the bumper for like 5 or 6 secs before he walks Vinny. I will never forget that, that $#@! was awesome to say the very least. I was with a friend who had a single turbo Supra Vinny had tuned and I was in a Vortech Saleen at the time. I never felt so slow LOL
