Try to do 2 nozzles - 1 in the charge pipe (keep it smaller as I think the FSI also have electronic TBs that will fry) and 1 in a TB spacer (if not going direct port).

The TSI/FSI world really doesn't have any "meth tuning" though I've seen guys with gt30s get a nice 20-25whp jump with the set up mentioned above on regular 93oct tuning from APR.

If he is going to run APR's 100oct tuning, I hope he is going with a robust kit, failsafes on these cars can be a $#@!.

He plans to run the APR 100oct tune with the methanol injection. It's the coolingmist stage 3 auto learn kit with VC2 and FSB that Terry designed. I'm not a fan of running meth on flash tunes because there are no true failsafes that I know of that are capable of reducing timing or bleeding boost if something is wrong. Aquamist may be able to but I'm not sure. He has a charge pipe with a bung in it. How many ml/min do you recommend? I currently have a cm10 and a snow 375ml/min nozzle I can put in the car. From what I was reading he wasn't going to need 2 nozzles. The cm10 was going to be fine

I have a coolingmist set up with just 1 nozzle now, waiting to put a new manifold on for DPI, but i'll be running on a 93oct tune with 93oct gas, so if flow stops, no harm done. Granted I'm not going to get the maximized benefits of meth.

I'm not sure how the auto learn and FSB will integrate with the FSI computer, I thought about it on my car, but I cannot find any information of anyone else doing it and getting it to work, and I rather not be a guinea ping.

I know the FSI and TSI are a bit different, but there are guys running the HFS-4 kits integrated into the ECU on the TSI. These kits are pretty great, especially in terms of fail safes and guys running the kit are running the 100oct tune without worry.

Personally unless I had something that could dump boost if meth stops flowing, I wouldn't run the 100oct tune. I know the VW ECUs are pretty smart and can pull timing, but running 100oct without adequate fueling on these cars can cause some damage if it happens at even a semi-frequent rate.

Anyways

I'm running a M2 (180cc/mm at 150psi) in my charge pipe. Some people are running M3 (250cc/mm) in the charge pipe and that's about the max people are running, a CM3 may work fine. Electronic TBs are over $300 on the TSI, not sure about the FSI, so keep that in mind. But again I'm not 100% if the FSI engines like your friend has, has an electronic TB. I mean if it doesn't, then well, the 375 should be fine...the CM10 may still be too big though as guys running big turbos with DPI and charge pipe are only spraying around 800-1100ml/m.

Now that brings me to why you should spend the extra few bucks and get a spacer. the Charge pipe nozzle is really good for lowering IATs. But I wouldn't rely on that to run a 100oct tune on, safely, especially not with a BT.

Now the throttle body spacer is ideal because you're really getting the meth droplets into the engine to get that nice power increase. However, again you're not going to want to run a CM10, or even the 375 here, as it may lead to unequal distribution to the ports. I mean the spacers are around $75, a T from mcmaster's is really cheap, then just the cost of a second nozzle, i'd say it's definitely worth going the 2 nozzle route. I think people were mostly going M2 here. I'll be running ~46ml/m in each port, but i'm on stock baby dick turbo.

if i could do it all over again, i'd just go with the HFS-4 kit. Better integration plus easy to go DPI. and your friend has a fully built engine with a gt28 on it, may as well get that meth flowing as much as he can.

and to answer the last post. A lot of guys are recently running Aquamist and Coolingmist as we've had some group buys on golfmk6. But generally people are running snow performance as there are vendors (usually sideways rally team) that posts heavily on the meth threads across the forums.
