      This race definitely puts in perspective how big of a difference over 200 wheel horsepower is in practice even with high powered cars. The 996 Turbo in the video belongs to GermanBoost member prodigymb. In the video he launches on the GTR and has a substantial lead as the GTR simply rolls into the throttle from a stop. The 996 Turbo is a quick car with about 800 wheel horsepower with upgraded turbochargers tuned with E85 fuel.


      The GTR is said to have dyno'd in the range of 1000-1XXX wheel horsepower on E85 as well. The GTR owner does not even launch on the 996 Turbo seemingly giving the Porsche the advantage. Even with the 996 Turbo getting the jump and no launch from the GTR the Nissan reels it in and passes very easily.

      Definitely a beast of a GTR and this race from a roll would have been even uglier for the Turbo.

        I wonder how hard those cars are to drive when they have about double the power they were designed to make.

        ouch....but yea...the robot wins again.....man this thing is hard to not be impressed by....no matter if you like it or not.....it just moves so fast its like it bends space/time around it to defy the laws of physics....smh....

        It's very easy to drive even with that much power from what I have been told by a few owner's with high WHP ones.

        Pretty insane result for what some might think seems like a somewhat small power difference. I'm probably doing a basic turbo upgrade to mine early next year to go from 600 awhp to 700 awhp on E85. Much further than that is really pushing my luck on stock tranny and motor. I expect it to go low-mid 10s in 2 weeks at the strip as is. Several have gone 9s with the above-mentioned turbo upgrade full weight.

        1000whp ? try 1140-1160whp.
        at the 1/4 mile he had me by a car length and as soon as he got around me he switched in my lane and i let off the throttle as he kept flying.

        yes he did not launch because last time he did he went sideways and i beat him by much more then he beat me this time.
        yes i will try cars out that i know are faster
        yes it is on a different level then my outdated super beetle.

        Last run with same cars, both with less power. Him and 900hp and me at 650-700hp

        Inflate the horsepower figure as much as you want. It flew by you like you were standing still, no shame.

        power figure is what it is - 1100+ whp. FACT. owner of the GTR is a friend of mine and we use the same dynojet here. yes 350+ whp difference is a lot, thats like your whole motor with bolt ons lol.

        That's like more than your motor without turbos lol. What kind of logic is that and how is it relevant? Who cares?

        Ok the article states 1000-1XXX wheel horsepower for the GTR, FACT. Try reading.

        @prodigymb your car rocks bro. I get the point you were making. That last video showing the GTR getting sideways is proof that like every car it needs traction and with 1100+whp getting to the ground requires the right combo of tire/suspension/skill even with AWD. Interestingly you were ahead of him from the gate and stayed there. He would have needed to walk you down for sure. Nice run and no shame in running a car you expect to take a L to.

        Tranny would likely be the problem before the motor, but yeah...not going down that road, lol.
