      This race took place at a half mile shootout from a stop that was hosted in Georgia last month. The Audi TT is running an APR K04 turbo upgrade and tune on the 2.0 four cylinder motor. The 135i has a tune, bolt on's, and meth injection although it is not stated what tune the 135i is running. Regardless, the Audi TT is able to hold off the 135i through the 1/2 mile.

      It does look like the 135i starts to reel in the TT but it is not enough and the TT manages to hold it off through the 1/2 mile marker. Very impressive Audi TT with just modest upgrades.Below the Audi TT and 135 race there is a longer video showing races of the various cars who participated in what certainly appears to be a fun event.

        wow, that's pretty impressive for the TT....I may have to go k04 on my VW.

        It's running a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder and that turbo is a factory used turbo, hardly some huge upgrade.

        Yep still room for much more power, but needs more$$$

        to be honest the last piece of my mod puzzle before I can go k04 is an upgraded intercooler and I'm just dreading that install. Maybe next spring though.

        Either the 135i needs a serious driver mod or the mods for it are inaccurate. I had a stage 2 APR GLI(intake, turbo back exhaust and upgraded HPFP) and my next step would've been to go stage 3(which would've been FMIC and K04) but APR was only quoting ~380bhp on the kit and the mid 12 sec quarter mile times i saw seemed to be inline with those numbers. I decided to jump platforms instead. Unless A LOT has changed since then I really don't see a K04 TT holding off a FBO+meth 135i for a half mile run.

        I mean the TT is a light car and had the advantage at the beginning with AWD, but I think the 135 could have done better with a better driver.

        The TSI (I'm assuming you had the FSI in your GLI) is a decent engine, here is a '09 GTI with APR k04 against a '09 335xi A/T with JB4, DCI on map 5, on a 40-45 roll, given this result from a roll against a FBO+meth 135 with a good driver they would walk any k04 VW..

        Yes sir, FSI. The FSI/TSI engines are great, but a K04 really just isn't a big enough snail(IMO) to make a ton of power.

        K04 can hang with modded 335's. In the end the 335 top end will win.

        Just for reference..

        This 135's fastest trap speed was 137.3 compared to 134.74 for the TT S-line.

        For similar reference a 427 Corvette Convertible did 143 mph and a stroker 5.7L M5 did 144.8. The RMS E39 M5 by Buckhead Performance did 149 mph but only did 2 passes and a G55 was able to reach 122mph (faster then some tuner cars and an NSX or two). The elevation at this even looks to be around 3000ft but the runway looks a little downhill

        completely agree. they really only make sense for these lighter cars...or in my case I just don't want to build my engine for a gt30, not worth it on a FWD car IMO.
