      The Mercedes M157 Twin Turbo V8 is a flat out beast. It is capable of over 600 wheel horsepower with just an ECU tune. Spy photographers are reporting the next gen W205 C63 AMG is testing with the M157 powerplant as shown below. With this motor under the hood and confirmed reports of the M3 getting a turbocharged inline-6 with around 450 horsepower, it would seem the new C63 AMG is simply going to bulldoze through its competition.

      The next generation M3 may be lighter, it may handle better, but it will not be able to match the sheer brute force of a twin turbo 5.5 liter C63. All it will take is an ECU tune and it's goodbye to just about anything. Mercedes does not seem to have a problem with putting this motor in their C-Class. A shame BMW is too timid to upset M5/M6 owners by placing their own twin turbo V8 under the hood of the M3.

      The next generation battle may already be over before it started. Way to raise the bar AMG.

        Kinda wierd how we see C63 mules before the actual C class, either way that car with the M157 is game over.

        Also reports of cutting weight with aluminum and composite materials. Maybe even a possible dual clutch.

        I believe it was on motorauthority. They said something like it will have more aluminium components ala the next gen S-class, also composite materials. The dual clutch was speculation on their part.
