      The P31 Package for the W204 C63 AMG gives the 6.2 liter AMG V8 motor stronger internals, more horsepower, and a more aggressive tune. The tune is so aggressive some tuners have been accused of simply re-selling it to standard C63 owners. Additionally, getting more power out of P31 cars has proven difficult with scarcely any positive gains posted to this point.

      The baseline for the P31 C63 on the dyno graph below from a Dyno Dynamics is 390 and 394 wheel horsepower reflected in the blue and pink lines respectively. Tuned, this rises to 427 and 421 wheel reflected in the green and red lines.

      Compare this to a standard C63 AMG which puts down 363.6 wheel horsepower stock, the grey line. Tuned, this rises to 421.3 which is the orange line.

      So, the P31 is obviously much stronger in stock form. When tuned, both cars end up around the same spot. This is really the first dyno graph posted on BenzBoost showing solid gains on top of a P31 optioned C63 car.

      Very, very nice results by OE Tuning. The graph is below and BenzBoost is attempting to source a higher resolution graph.

        Because the overlay is very informative. Plus, more C63 P31 tune info is good to have as it is scarce. I believe it may be yours, not 100% sure.

        I just looked again, it is mine. You know all about this and the performance increase. Strange to post when the gains don't really apply

        What do you mean? What is strange about seeing the base C63 and tuned overlaid with the P31 base and tuned?

        It was just posted by OE Tuning and since there isn't much posted on P31 tunes I thought I would put it up. What I personally know is irrelevant, others may not have seen it.

        The graphs show what they show, it's a point of discussion in an M156 forum. I don't see anything strange at all.

        I don't know what you want from me. The graph was put up today with the overlay, OE Tuning is a vendor, I'm doing my job and sharing it.

        Say whatever you want about how you feel the car performed. I think your own race video supports a tuned P31 and a tuned C63 being close.

        Once again, who's stopping you from sharing your experience? Post your videos, do whatever you want and discuss the tune if you like.

        It's hard to get power of the P31 and I don't remember all your exact details but I remember some guys having issues with their cars adapting. I think you were one of them.

        This gives me a little insight on how comparable the tunes are...but can't they tune the P31 cars a little harder because of the upgraded internals? Or is it not worth it? I got DD GT3's opinion on tunes, and he did mention the increase in HP but that's about it...I wonder what kind of difference it would make if I get LTH's? I still want an emissions legal set up but definitely more power. I don't want it to be too loud either...I might do electronic cut-outs...I dunno the options are there and I have time...time to study right now, but soon I will be researching tons of stuff and trying to come up with a good combo...anyone have any good combos they are running now?

        Sure he p31 internals are a but stronger but you would have to probably push it on race gas to see much if a difference.

        p31 tunes are tough there doesn't appear to be all that much to squeeze out. A blower might be nice on those internals... Click here to enlarge
