      The Corvette ZR-1 is a seriously fast piece of machinery. Easily a 10 second car capable of 130+ in the 1/4 mile. The E55 in stock form is no match for it, not even close. Modified however, and things change. Yes, the ZR-1 is much lighter and mod for mod will be faster but that is not the discussion here. This is about if a modified E55 with the M113K motor and modified stock supercharger can beat the ZR-1.


      The E55 is easier to launch thanks to its automatic trans. The ZR-1 takes a bit more skill thanks to its manual transmission so keep that in mind. The E55 only has the Renntech pulley and tune while on drag radials. The ZR-1 is bone stock on street tires.

      The E55 runs 11.6@120.4 to the ZR-1 11.8@128. The E55 does redlight (start early) but that does not affect the time. So the E55 gets the better ET by a couple tenths but the ZR-1 is pulling much harder running 128 MPH which is impressive in the Florida heat. With a better driver, the ZR-1 should win this every time. It would many more mods to the E55 to get its trap speed to match the ZR-1. The video shows the faster car does not always win.
