BMW to supply Fisker with N20 Turbo four-cylinder motors to be used in the new Fisker Atlantic

It's great to see BMW not only as an automaker but also as an engine supplier providing their powerplants for automakers with different approaches and goals. The
N20 powerplant is a technical marvel making very good power and torque (241 hp, 258 lb-ft) from its 2.0 liter displacement while remaining efficient. It is for these reasons that Fisker would be interested in the motor for their entry level priced ($55,000 range) Atlantic plug-in hybrid automobile. This is potentially a big deal for BMW and for Fisker.
The only problem is whether Fisker will have enough money to actually build this car and bring it to market. The Federal Government still owes Fisker quite a bit of the funds it promised the plug-in hybrid carmaker. Fisker also did not come close to meeting its projected sales figures for the Karma sedan. The Atlantic which is set to be about half the price of the Karma should sell better but it remains to be seen if Fisker truly is viable as an automaker.
Regardless, BMW has a hit on their hands with the N20 motor and it would be great for them to generate additional business supplying this motor to others.
