      Somehow the Porsche 918 Spyder brochure has leaked onto the internet and we are not complaining. Pages are missing but these were all that were e-mailed along with a few tidbits from an anonymous source. Curb weight is 1660 kilograms or 3659 pounds. Not a lightweight but certainly impressive for a hybrid sports car packing what is now said to be around 800 horsepower with 580 coming from the gasoline 4.6 liter gasoline motor. The brochure also reveals a host of customization options.

      One can get their 918 Spyder in the classic Martini racing livery if they desire or even a white/red Porsche design. Cool? You bet.

      There is also a hardcore Weissach package which reduces weight by 35 kilograms (77 pounds) by removing the armrest, storage area in doors, and replacing the wheels with ones made out of magnesium. It also comes with a 6-Point harness. If this is not quite serious enough, the AC and stereo can also be deleted.

      This type of car definitely gets enthusiasts to take hybrid technology seriously. This is not a Porsche Prius but a high performance technological tour de force. An absolutely incredible machine and it would be a dream to own one of the 918.

        $#@! it, I don't want an M3 anymore, I'll take one in Meteor Grey Metallic with the BBS style magnesium wheels. Sadly this will probably cost as much as a house

        It is going to cost more than the majority of homes. And rightfully so.. magnesium $#@!ing wheels as an option!

        WOW - that cockpit is amazing. Love the design and also the clean body with not moving aero. Very slick. Here's a few more of the Martini livery:
