      Renntech is really pushing the M157 platform hard having the highest horsepower and fastest tuned 63 AMG's with the new twin turbo V8 motor. Matt Farah of Drive got to experience a Renntech tuned CLS63 AMG said to be putting out around 700 horsepower. In addition to driving the car we get a small tour of Renntech's facility in Florida which houses some very impressive Mercedes machinery being built for customers literally all over the world.

      Matt Farah also speaks to Renntech owner Hartmut Feyhl who started with AMG when he was 17 years old. He says what we like to hear which is, "there is never enough horsepower." No disagreement here.

        I personally saw this car there getting prepped up for SEMA it belongs to the owner Hartmut, this car is WICKED!! trust me when I say this you have to see it in person!!!! Great job AMIGO Hartmut!!

        Sticky that is what they told me that the car would be at SEMA but with the REAL Carbon Fiber mods!!!

        This platform is wild... if i could afford either, I really don't know whether it would be this or the new m5. The M5 has suprised us all a little bit recently.

        Sick car no doubt. Amazing how tunable these new 157's are. Do you really think it can get into the 9's though ?

        Review was annoying honestly, but that car is awesome and the inside-look at Renntech was very cool. I hope they get more involved in BMW.

        Time will tell. RT car w/upgrades did 10.7's @ 130s mph (~132mph best) on stock turbo before. A turbo upgrade & additional hardware upgrade hopefully will add ~+150rwhp / ~+200ftlb more from previous setup... should be possible 9's.

        Exactly, with a turbo upgrade it is definitely realistic.

        I thought he said in that video that the turbos were already upgraded bigger Garretts ??

        Yes they are working on turbo upgrades. I think billet wheels are first, we will see.

        I'm surprised we aren't seeing more W212 M157's being modded. Isn't the E class lighter than the CLS ? Either way...the more I hear about these damn M157's the more I want one. Just can't figure out which one would fill the gap between my Range Rover and my Black Series...

        There's quite a some W212 sedan & wagon's being modded globally... ML are getting popular as well. They just don't post about them. Here's a repost video (you can hear tire slip on dyno):

        Renntech are just amazing. They sure got powerful upgrades for this platform. I can't wait to see the results from the turbo upgrades.

        Actually the weights ended up being close, pretty much a wash. Also, there are more CLS's on the road with this motor as the new one got the motor before the E which was still running the M156.

        There will be people modding the E's as well.

        I think the CLS is a nice choice, you should consider it.

        I really like the CLS - guy down the street from me just got one and it's growing on me. But, there is too much overlap between it and my Range Rover and the Rangie actually does more, hauls alot, etc. I'm kind of torn cause there really isn't anything in the AMG lineup I can justify right now. 'Cept an SL...
