The car comes with a 2.0T motor putting out 211 horsepower which is not much to move the 3891 pound curb weight. Audi claims 0-60 in 6.5 but Insideline hit 6.8. Usually automakers are conservative with their numbers so it's surprising to see Audi overrating the Allroad by this much. The 1/4 mile goes by in 15.2@90.5. Paltry performance in this day and age.
This car is aimed at people who do not want an SUV but want more off roading ability than the A4 Avant offered. How many people is that exactly? The A4 Avant was lower and handled better while still offering Quattro. It does not make too much sense to cancel selling it in the USA for a raised version of the same thing. Audi sees a business case for the Allroad however so this is what we have. It definitely is not a performance wagon and if we are to have wagons forced on us we would prefer the RS ones to this.
