      Here is the first intake setup available for the new F10 M5. Coming from Gruppe M and made out of carbon fiber this is not going to be cheap as Gruppe M intakes usually aren't. What you get for the $3500+ price (estimated) is great looking pieces with grille ducts to route more air. The gains are 16 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque at the crank. The question becomes is it worth the cost?

      Gruppe M intakes are some of the best looking available and this is first to market. However, a good pair of intake scoops that no doubt will come soon and a high flow air filter should be able to mimic the gains we see here in a more affordable fashion. The pieces just won't look anywhere near as good and will take time to arrive. Up to the individual to determine if this intake setup is worth it and we certainly would not fault anyone who picked up one of the consistently best intake options for M motors.

        Is it worth the cost? If you are one of those people paying $8,000 for Akrapovic exhaust with less hp gain, the answer is yes indeed.

        $8000 for an exhaust, $3500 for an intake..hopefully the aftermarket parts for F10 M5 are less expensive by the time I get my hands on one because this is just ridiculous...about $12k for maybe 30whp..Ill pass

        This is how it always is early on until the American tuners enter the market. This car is just getting warmed up.

        Also, this IS a quality intake.

        Yeah I know this is just the way it is, and I know this is a quality intake, but damn thats alot of money for an intake..I feel the same way about the ASR cold air intake for the E60 M5..im sure its a quality product (though not as good as Gruppe M), and I think it also cost about $3500...I just cant justify spending that much money on an intake..

        ASR is a bunch of crap in comparison to Gruppe M.

        or you can take to a dyno tuner and have them increase a boost a bit (few lbs) for a lot less $

        Of course but combining a tune and intake isn't a bad idea at all.
