      Last month Insideline tested the new Boxster S manual and now we have the Car and Driver numbers to compare. Insideline hit 13.0@108.7 and Car and Driver managed 12.9@111, so a slight improvement. The Boxster S is not far off E92 M3 acceleration with the manual and with the PDK will likely improve a bit. Beyond just the acceleration numbers Car and Driver rates this new Boxster 5 Stars and as an improvement over what was already a fantastic car.

      The car has a fairly low 3070 pound curb weight and pulls almost a full g on the skidpad. Car and Driver simply states this is the gold standard by which sports cars should be measured. We just wish Porsche would stop holding it back to protect the 911. It's time to see what a Boxster or Cayman with an equivalent powertrain to the 911 can do.

        That dude looks big!

        Saw one of these cars on the road. Very nice car. Much less girly than my mom's previous gen. I should test drive one of them.

        I'm really liking these things and the styling - thinking about picking one up for a summer car.

        I just did a quick search to see what FI support there was for the last Boxster/Cayman platform - didn't realize it existed because i never really heard about them...would be interesting to see how the new platform performs with PDK and FI.

        I'm surprised FI'd Caymans aren't more popular on the tuning scene...but I suppose purists prefer the 911TTs.

        They are popular it's just the 911 Turbo gets all the attention and only TPC is really doing Boxster/Cayman turbos.

        I can't wait to see what they do with the newer direct injected motors and PDK on these boxsters/caymans.
