• Cobb Tuning Stage 2 E82 135i takes on an Evolve tuned Stage I E60 M5

      Just to preface both Evolve and Cobb are vendors on BimmerBoost for good reasons, they have great tunes powering some very fast BMW's. What you see here in this video are two very different tuned vehicles. The E60 M5 with a Stage I Evolve tune and Eisenmann race exhaust for its naturally aspirated 5.0 liter V10 is the camera car. The E82 135i has the Cobb Stage II aggressive with downpipes and a twin turbo N54 3.0 liter I6.

      The M5 runs away up top which is really no surprise. The S85 V10 really shines on the highway where it is at its best. Video is below.

        Member "Khyber" is the M5 owner. I know him from another forum and recommended he join over here. We talked about these runs and had a laugh about the other guys mentality when he's tried to meet up for the dig run. He and I share the same enthusiasm about our cars and are down to run whoever in whatever. It's all in good funClick here to enlarge Some people would just rather bicker about their "theory" and then have excuses for days. I don't know the 135i but we exchanged words on the youtube comments. He thinks he's got a chance and predicts the M5 to spin like crazy. I told him i would like to see it. Hopefully he meets up with the M to make it happen.

        that 135i is not taking the M5 from a dig, roll, backwards, or anything else for that matter..the M5 is a beast..i had a cobb stage 2+ agressive FBO 335i and it was fast, but it doesnt compare to my M5 now, and all I have on the M5 is rpi scoops, block off plates, bmc filters, and miesterchaft full exhaust..cant wait to see how it is once I get it tuned

        I honestly can't believe you don't have a tune. That is the most important piece of the puzzle. Get a damn tune!!!

        You should have bought it tuned!? Hahaha

        All kidding aside, you are spot on with your current plan. I've had the opportunity to drive/ride in many S85's with most available tunes and all I can say is the Evolve just seems to be 1000% complete. Make it happen, you will have a permanent smile.

        That's good to know! I'm glad I could help persuade you into the beast. In all reality I can't think of a more well rounded car for a performance car enthusiast. I've daily driven mine for a year and a half. It really does it all, not to mention, IMO its the sexiest sounding sedan of all time. Click here to enlarge

        Wish i could come play. Cobb stage 2 is worthless in my opinion. You guys need to be careful which N54 powered cars your picking on, you just might become very familiar with which tailights are LCI vs non LCI lol.

        EDIT: Is the 135i auto or manual? If he's auto and knows how to launch it he might have a decent start against the 5er. He needs a lesson in roll racing 101 too, put your effing windows up.
