      The GTR and 911 turbo are cars frequently compared due to their similarities. All wheel drive, twin turbo six cylinders, and dual clutch (optional in the Porsche) transmissions. They also are frequently modified for huge horsepower. Two of the premier companies for tuning these cars are Protomotive for the Porsche and AMS for the GTR. The Alpha 12 Package by AMS for the GTR is said to be capable of 1500 horsepower and is their highest horsepower offering.

      The GTR is stated to be at 1100 horsepower (which it may be due to fuel) and the Protomotive Turbo is stated to be at 950 horses. On paper this is a bit of a mismatch for a mile long drag race. In practice however the 997 gets a good jump and is able to fend off the higher horsepower GTR until the very end where it is passed. A very close race thanks to how the 997 gets out of the hole.

      The GTR does have the higher trap at 209 mph to 196 mph for the 911 turbo in the mile. In the 1/4 mile it is 146 mph for the GTR versus 140 for the 911 turbo. No doubt about which car is making more power.

        950Hp on the Porsche
        1110 HP for the GT-R

        Porsche had a better launch but got a slight beat at the end.

        Good run... The GTR looks slow with the launch not sure it's the driver or what. Reminds me of he UGR Gallerdo's.
