      We have built a good amount of M156/M159 SLS engines and have had a few request for build photos. This same engine build is the foundation for a larger horsepower SLS package that we will be releasing soon. Also installed are one of the first few sets of M159 CNC ported heads we have released. We will be updating our website with details in the near future.

      As many know the M159 shares the same foundation as the M156, all of our upgraded internal parts are compatible.

        Judging by the last pic, the 2.3 lysholm blower is changed for a bigger (longer) 2.9 or 3.3 whipple (sc case different casting).

        I take it that the stock crank is more than adequate for 1,000 hp? Could you raise the rev limit on a built motor to say, 9,000 rpm? You have any plans for cams?

        The crankshaft is extremely robust on both the M156 and M159 engine. It is virtually the same crankshaft. You can see from the pictures that it is heat treated and hardened from the factory. When maching and balancing all parts, we check for any imperfections, mag the crank, repolish if needed and get it ready for assembly. Rev limits can be raised but the limitation of this engine is the heavier than average cam tappets. The hydraulic design and the large diameter will cause floating issues when tryin to consistently rev past what AMG has deemed good.

        We have done testing with cams, but we have no plans yet to release something. Again, there are challenges in the tappet design and we won't get everything we can out of the engine with cams because of this.

        We have very nice plans for the drivetrain on the SLS, and it will be released soon. Thanks for the responses guys.

        I think the SC is awesome, but I wanted to see what the max NA potential of this motor was. Raise the limit some, max out the heads and cams, I think it would be pretty cool.. almost like the 458 motor, what's their tappet design?

        I see what you are saying but the M159 is a little more stressed due to the power it puts out stock over the M156. It already has upgraded cams and heads I believe.
